TheinceptionoftheRockinghamCounty(RoCo) QuiltTraildatesbackto2015whenitwasinitiated bythePiedmontConservationCouncil(PCC), thankstofinancialsupportfromtheNorth CarolinaDepartmentofCommerce. CollaboratingwithRockinghamCountySoil& WaterandtheRockinghamCountyTourism DevelopmentAuthority(TDA),PCCworkedtobring thistrailtolife.Presently,RoCoTDAisthesole entityresponsibleforitsmaintenance.
Everyquiltblockfeaturedonthetrailholdsits ownuniquemeaningandstory.manyparticipants chosetheirinstallationwithspecialsignificance totheirfamily‘sheritage.otherblocksserveasa tributetoRoCo’srichagriculturalheritage, creatingacelebrationofthearea’sfarming legacy.
