          Charcot-Marie-Tooth(CMT)Diseaseisagroup
          ofinheriteddisordersestimatedtoaffectonein 2,500peoplethatcausenervedamage,mostly inthearmsandlegs(peripheralnerves).Thesenerves areresponsibleforpassingoncommandsfromthebrain tothemuscles(motornerves)andinformationtothe brainaboutsensations,suchaspain,heat,cold,touch, importantlyforbalance–whereyourjointsareinspace (sensorynerves).Whenthesearedamaged,peopleare saidtohaveaneuropathy.CMTdiseaseisalsocalled hereditarymotorandsensoryneuropathy.
