COMMUNITY IMPACT REPORT

LEARN HOW ROCKFORD IS BUILDING A BETTER WORLD

Our work continues to be grounded in a simple belief: strong communities are built through intentional partnership and purpose.

Not just better places to live, learn, heal or work, but stronger, more connected and more resilient communities. This commitment has shaped Rockford for decades and it continues to be one of the most important measures of our success.

As always, meaningful impact begins with people. We are grateful for the incredible community nonprofits and partners who show up every day to serve others, addressing essential needs such as workforce development, food security, affordable housing, education, mental health support and so much more. Our 2025 Community Impact Report highlights their remarkable work and the many ways they help our communities thrive.

From expanded trade partner outreach and workforce development initiatives to enhanced student job shadows, hard hat tours and donation drives, we remain committed to creating lasting, positive impact. In every interaction and on every project, our goal is to leave each community stronger than we found it.

At the end of the day, we are proud of what we build, but we are even more proud of the lives we touch and the people we uplift through our work. Thank you to our committed community partners and to our Rockford team members whose generosity, compassion and service continue to make a real difference.

Together we’re Building a Better World.

HANDS-ON STEWARDSHIP FOR HEALTHIER LANDSCAPES

Kent County manages 43 parks spanning more than 8,000 acres — land that requires constant stewardship. Invasive vines like bittersweet can quickly overtake trees, choking their growth and disrupting the ecosystem without natural controls to keep them in check. Partnering with Kent County Parks at Johnson Park, Rockford supported targeted removal efforts, cutting and treating vines to stop the spread and protect the long-term health of the park.

GATHERING AROUND GOOD FOOD FOR A GREATER PURPOSE

Sullivan Field’s annual Chili Cookoff is one of its largest fundraisers, supporting ongoing renovation and restoration efforts at the historic West Side ballpark. Rockford supported the event through team participation, helping advance improvements that preserve the field’s legacy and enhance the experience for players, families and fans for generations to come.

SERVING THOSE WHO SERVE OUR COMMUNITY

The Grand Rapids Police Department plays a vital role in maintaining safety and stability for the people who live, work and gather throughout the city. To show appreciation for their ongoing commitment, Rockford team members provide meals to officers, recognizing the important role they play in protecting the community.

BRINGING A BELOVED LANDMARK BACK TO LIFE

After a fire destroyed Camp Newaygo’s 40-year-old boardwalk, volunteers from Rockford and other local groups joined efforts to rebuild it. Rockford team members helped install planks across the bog, completing the first section of the boardwalk and bringing the project one step closer to full restoration ahead of a fundraising event.

SUPPORTING SUMMER MEMORIES IN THE MAKING

At historic Camp Henry, Rockford team members helped refresh the camp’s original 1930s cabins and support ongoing improvements for future generations. In one day, the team built four bike racks and a new canoe rack, helping ensure the camp is ready to welcome excited campers for the summer season.

FAMILIES GUIDED TOWARD HOUSING STABILITY IN 2025

HELPING FAMILIES FEEL AT HOME THROUGH HANDS - ON SUPPORT

Family Promise helps families achieve lasting stability through emergency shelter, housing solutions and supportive services. Rockford supported this mission through ongoing volunteer efforts to complete light renovations and home refreshes, helping ensure new living spaces create a safe, welcoming home.

SHOWING UP FOR MENTAL HEALTH — TOGETHER

Rockford joined a mental health–focused Ice Bucket Challenge during Mental Health Awareness Month to raise awareness and foster open conversations in the construction industry. By participating and encouraging peers, the team helped spotlight the importance of support, check-ins and creating a culture where mental health can be discussed openly.

ROLLING UP OUR SLEEVES FOR OUR COMMUNITY

Versiti of Michigan blood drives provide lifesaving support to patients across the state, with every donation having the potential to impact multiple lives. Rockford team members joined a recent drive, helping collect 19 units of blood — enough to support 41 people — and contributing to a vital effort that ensures hospitals and patients have the resources they need.

FROM HARVEST TO HANDS: NOURISHING KIDS IN NEED

Kids’ Food Basket is dedicated to nourishing children to reach their full potential, providing thousands of healthy meals each day to kids facing food insecurity across West Michigan. From harvesting fresh produce at the farm to packing sack suppers and Thanksgiving break packs, volunteer efforts throughout the year helped prepare and distribute thousands of meals for children in need. These hands-on experiences strengthened connection, purpose, and a shared commitment to ensuring no child goes hungry.

MAKING MEMORIES THAT MATTER, EVEN IN RECOVERY

At Mary Free Bed’s Scare-apy event, pediatric patients and their families enjoyed costumes, games, treats and even a bunny petting area. Rockford team members contributed by handing out toys and candy, helping create an inclusive, joyful experience where imagination and accessibility were celebrated.

SETTING KIDS UP FOR A SUCCESSFUL SCHOOL YEAR

Many families in Southeastern Michigan struggle to afford basic essentials, which can impact students’ ability to focus on learning. Rockford team members partnered with United Way to pack backpacks filled with school supplies, helping children start the school year prepared and reducing stress for families facing

WARMING HEARTS AND COMMUNITIES, ONE COAT AT A TIME

Rockford team members hosted a winter coat drive to benefit the Hispanic Center of Western Michigan, collecting children’s coats and joggers. The donations will help families stay warm while supporting the Center’s broader mission to educate, empower and strengthen the local Latinx community.

BRINGING HOLIDAY JOY TO EVERY CHILD

Rockford team members supported holiday drives hosted by The Other Way Ministries, helping families in need celebrate the season with dignity and joy. Contributions from the team, alongside volunteers and community partners, helped stock Christmas stores with gifts and essentials, giving parents the opportunity to select items for their children without sacrificing critical expenses.

BUILDING CONNECTIONS, ONE VISIT AT A TIME

Sibley Elementary, part of Grand Rapids Public Schools, plays an essential role in supporting students and families through community-centered care. A longstanding partnership has made it possible to support students throughout the year — through monthly food access via Feeding America, classroom reading days, seasonal drives and moments of celebration like Halloween and blanket gifting — helping create a school environment rooted in warmth, consistency and support.

BRIDGING THE GAP BETWEEN CLASSROOM AND CAREER

At Grand Valley State University, Rockford team members shared practical construction safety knowledge with students, including de-escalation techniques and electrical hazard training. By connecting classroom concepts to real-world jobsite scenarios, the team helped prepare emerging safety professionals and promote a culture of safer workplaces across the industry.

EMPOWERING CAREER EXPLORATION

The construction industry offers far more than most students realize, from architecture and engineering to skilled trades and project leadership. By connecting with local high schools, middle schools and other organizations like GRow1,000, West Michigan Construction Institute and YouthBuild, Rockford helps people explore the wide range of career paths available and understand how each role contributes to bringing a building to life.

Through classroom visits and hosted events, Rockford shares how construction shapes the communities we live in — building healthcare spaces, schools and workplaces that serve people every day — while opening doors to meaningful, hands-on career opportunities.

ROCKVETS AND MVETS: GIVING BACK TO THOSE WHO GIVE SO MUCH

In collaboration with the Meijer mVets group, Rockford team members helped assemble over 800 holiday care packages for active-duty service members worldwide. The effort honored the dedication of troops and brought a touch of home and appreciation to those serving abroad.

FUNDING HEALTH AND HOPE FOR LOCAL VETS

RockVets, a Rockford resource group, brought team members together around a fundraiser supporting veteran-focused causes. That same spirit carried into Rockford’s Veterans Day gathering, where we honored veterans on our team and within their families. Together, these moments reflect a shared commitment to recognizing service and sacrifice.
