Professional Notes
We are very excited to have the 14th hole open again. For some of us, it has been a difficult adjustment and the new 14th hole is certainly playing much harder than the temporary 14th. We would point out that, due to the bulkheading project, we were able to reclaim 8’ of land, so the carry over the water is actually slightly shorter now than it was for the old 14th hole. With that said, we wanted to offer the following yardages to help you develop a strategy for playing the hole:

Red tees from 165 red plate:
Carry the water in line with the beginning of fairway – 100 yards
Carry the water in line with front bunker/middle of green – 145
Middle of the fairway – 150
White tees from 180 white plate:
Carry the water in line with the beginning of fairway – 100 yards
Carry the water in line with front bunker/middle of green – 155
Middle of the fairway – 160
Blue tees from 202 blue plate:
Carry the water in line with the beginning of fairway – 125 yards
Carry the water in line with front bunker/middle of green – 180
Middle of the fairway – 185
A few people have suggested that we create a drop area on the other side of the water. The USGA does not recommend establishing a drop area that takes the penalty area (water) out of play, and we have not had a drop zone on 14 in at least the last 12 years due to the USGA’s advice. At this time, we are not establishing a drop zone on 14, but will monitor the situation, including the impact on pace of play.
