2 2022 CORN HILL ARTS FESTIVAL GUIDE
WELCOME
to the Corn Hill Arts Festival! The 2022 Corn Hill Arts Festival presented by ESL Federal Credit Union invites you to
“Come for the Art, Stay for It All!” Experience the arts and culture of Rochester’s first residential neighborhood on July 9 and 10, 2022. With nine categories of art and an abundance of activities, this is a festival you won’t want to miss. Plus, admission and shuttle buses are free, so bring the whole family! Volunteers from the Corn Hill Neighbors Association work year-round to prepare for the festival, which welcomes over 125,000 visitors. Nearly 300 juried artists from across the
US and Canada will display and sell their handcrafted arts and crafts across nine streets. With so many artists, you’ll be sure to find that special gift or the perfect piece for your home, office or garden. Love art and want to support up-and-coming artists? Then don’t miss the 12th Annual Emerging Artists Expo presented by MVP Health Care. The Expo, located on Eagle St.,
features talented young artists from our region in a variety of mediums. Music lovers will be sure to enjoy a weekend of free entertainment including music across four stages, showcasing 25 live performances. This year’s don’t-miss performances will be at

The Labatt Blue Light Gazebo Stage will feature the popular Cinnamon Jones on Saturday afternoon! Enjoy the music and relax in the ESL Hospitality Tent or stop over to the Colloca Estate Winery Tasting Garden to enjoy a variety of their wines and ciders.
“The festival has deep roots in the community, and we are thrilled for its return,” said the 2022 Festival Chairperson, Bill Belecz. “Our neighbors and volunteers are excited, and ready to once again put on one of Rochester’s favorite summer events. Visitors can enjoy original art, music, food, fun and a few new elements.”
Lunsford Circle and the Main Stage/Food Court area will feature beer gardens spotlighting a variety of beers in addition to a tasty selection of your favorite food trucks. New this year! Join Yellow Jacket Racing for the Corn Hill 5k on Sunday morning. Starting off in Corn Hill and heading south with gorgeous scenic views of the University of Rochester, Downtown, and the Genesee River. Got kids? Bring them along because Corn Hill is a family-friendly event! Our Family Fun Zone will host the popular 8th Annual Fairy
of extraordinary, all-natural, handmade Fairy Houses. Meet a real life fairy and vote for your favorite in our “People’s Choice Award Contest.”
Funds raised during the festival will be used by the Corn Hill Neighbors Association, a 501(c)(3) organization, to support ongoing community services. More details at cornhillartsfestival.com

The 2022 Corn Hill Arts Festival’s commemorative poster was created by Jakob Larzelere, a Caledonia, NY native, who is inspired by landscapes and organic beauty. He enjoys creating art and being a part of a diverse, inspirational and talented community, which allows him to keep evolving as a human being. Jakob originally became familiar with the festival when his high school teacher, Vicki McArdle, encouraged him to apply for the Emerging Artists Expo in 2019. A few years later, when he was asked to produce the poster, he took a walk around the neighborhood and was captivated by the image that later became the poster. He wanted to be able to feature the simplicity of Corn Hill, while honoring the history by showcasing the building and cobblestone road. He says that the long entrance to the yard, yet the open gate in the back symbolizes that after all we have been through, things move on. The Merchandise Booth is located at the Frederick Douglass and Adams Street intersection.
