01 ISLA BUGUITAY
Location: Polillo Island, Philippines
Isla Buguitay, located in Polillo Island, is a resort designed to co-exist with its natural setting through the use of natural materials such as wood and stone. The resort’s goal is to create exclusivity and privacy to its guests.
Isla Buguitay provides unique accommodations while considering the environmental, social, and economic impact of the activities in the area. These include hanging features where guests can relax and have a drink, view decks that go around the mountains of the Wisland, and elevated villas that go with the overall theme of airborne activities.

02 PRISON CONTEMPLATION
Location: Fort Magsaysay, Philippines
We aim to improve living conditions in Philippine prisons by identifying critical aspects for inmate rehabilitation, creating creative spaces, and designing an overall development system. Our prison design concept focuses on contemplative spaces for inmates to transform into better individuals. Our program helps inmates learn stress reduction, trauma recovery, and emotional management skills, reducing violence and recidivism rates, and enabling them to contribute positively to society.

03 SEEDS OF CHANGE
Location: Comuna 6, Cartagena, Colombia
Cienega de la Virgen is a crucial resource that nurtures Cartagena’s ecosystem which is in the face of pollution problems, mainly the discharge of untreated sewage and at risk to flooding. We are addressing the cienega as a high ground - low ground system articulated by temporal gradients rather than edges. This reading is how we imagine to ‘sow’ the seeds of Care, Housing, and Filtration in the neighborhood fueled by the existing initiative of Seeds of Mangrove.

SEED
/’sēd/
A ‘seed’ is a starting point where the community plants a new project and cultivates its roots to tackle the people’s needs over time.
MINGA
/’minNGɡa/ ‘Minga’ relates to collective work action and communal work where people come together to collaborate for the well-being of all. Community members come together voluntarily to work on a specific project, such as building a house, repairing infrastructure, or carrying out agricultural tasks.

1. 1. The existing Community Council with the residents will discuss their needs.
2. Community Council partners with non-government organization and educational institutions to address these urgent needs and strategize solutions
3. Partners together with the council come up with seed projects and prioritize immediate and long-term goals.
4. With the partners’ aid, the community prioritzes seed projects and secure funding from the government.
5. The community council assigns work roles and starts undertaking these projects.
6. The community receives monetary and n1on-monetary returns from the government for their green jobs.

04 VISTA
Location: Vilafranca del Pinedes, Barcelona, Spain
In this architectural design class, we were tasked to renovate the current building that will activate the town with a new mixed used building. This is in a small and tranquil community of mostly elderlies and children.
The current untouched building would be replaced with a more communal building that would strive to bring together the community by having a street selling market, co-working space, and a multi-purpose civic room.
The project is located in Vilafranca del Pinedes, which is on the northern edge of the city.
The building’s design aims to harmonize with its surroundings by making the exterior material and color similar to its enviroment, while remaining eye-catching by using wooden vertical panels for the facade.

05 D.O.S.T. MEDICAL CENTER
Location: Bicutan, Taguig City, Philippines
Department of Science and Technology (D.O.S.T.) Medical Center, located in the D.O.S.T. compound, is a treatment facility and community built for the new normal. This project strives to be more than just a hospital that serves people with medical needs; it also establishes designs for new, unusual standards. It considers material finishes, design strategies, and spacing (social distancing). This initiative is a beacon of hope in which the research focuses on providing comfort and encouragement to patients, doctors, and visitors while combating COVID-19.
At D.O.S.T. Medical Center, we prioritize your health and safety. Our buildings are designed with natural ventilation for infection control. We’ve also established underground networks for safer walkways. Our biophilic design promotes a sustainable, healthier environment, seamlessly connected to nature, enhancing your experience.

We selected the D.O.S.T. compound as the location for our project due to its central accessibility, strong scientific reputation, and refreshing environment.
Additionally, the abundant trees in this compound can enhance the well-being of individuals who are isolated due to the pandemic or other illnesses.

06 TERZETTO: MIXEDUSE DEVELOPMENT COMPLEX
Location: Filinvest, Muntinlupa City, Philippines
The mixed used development project contains a leisure mall, an office building, a residential building, and a luxury twin tower residential building with commercial space below. The project aims to bring all these developments together into one property to create an active community of work, play, and leisure.
Three individual esquisses were done for these three high rise buildings. The last part, which was the fourth esquisse, was to combine these three buildings into one mixed used development by adding a podium that connects all building despite different styles.
The challenge brought about in these esquisses was to create parking spaces, elevators, emergency staircases that comply with the building codes yet be able to bring in all the requirements such as the number of parking slots, number of units, unit sizes, and recreational activities.

Atlanta After Property
Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA)
In this urban design class, our group was tasked with dealing with the issues of the current concept of property, which is mobility and transportation based on private vehicle ownership. This leads to economic, environmental, and geographic segregation in public transportation, causing inefficiency in the current transportation system, specifically MARTA, especially for neglected communities.
Our vision is to transform transit stops into lively places, prioritizing people over transit and creating new areas for community care and stewardship. Ultimately, our goal is to decentralize downtown and establish multiple downtown areas throughout Atlanta.

We created a flexible public transportation network that overcomes property boundaries. We repurposed public spaces as working areas and connected them using circulating shuttles. Public spaces for larger community gatherings will replace private vehicle parking lots and streets.
Our mass transit system is connected to stations and properties for efficient travel. In Atlanta’s future, transit stops become community hubs prioritizing people over cars, offering interaction, activity, and care opportunities.
Eventually, the concentration of the city center will be reduced by creating multiple mini-city centers...
08 SUPPORTING THE SUPPORT
Redefining Hospital Spaces for Healthcare Workers and Patients’ Families through the Supportive Design Theory and Planetree Model
Location: Manila, Philippines
Healthcare workers and patients’ families play an integral role in the overall outcome of the patient. With the on-going pandemic and moving to the new normal, it is especially important to ensure the wellbeing of the families and healthcare workers since their physical and mental state not only directly affect their health, but also their ability to perform their duties.
Through the proposal of restorative spaces in hospitals that will address the environmental stress issues, patients’ families and healthcare workers are provided the opportunity to recover from the multiple events occurring; thus, restore their energy to be able to play a supportive role in patient recovery.
This model is the current Philippine General Hospital (PGH) with added parasitic interventions. The building itself will not be completely redesigned to keep its identity and historical value.

11 CASA LONGA
Location: Cabangahan Island, Romblon, Philippines
This private resort is located in one of the remote islands of Romblon, Philippines. The design started with the consideration of having casitas (bahay kubo), for when his family and friends visit. From this, evolved how the site development plan of the private resort would be. The common area would be overlooking the sea and all the casitas. While the casitas would have a view of the sea.
This private resort was designed and built within the year of 2018.
