For the people of Los Angeles, Jewish Family Service LA is a trusted source of support. We are a comprehensive network of services that welcomes individuals and families of all ages and identities to our full continuum of care. Our highly trained staff and volunteers work closely with individuals and their loved ones to problem-solve and guide them on their paths to safety, security, wellness, and fulfillment.

Our mission is to provide lifeimproving services that help the people of Los Angeles live with dignity and exercise selfdetermination. We believe in and strive for a more compassionate Los Angeles where no one has to navigate life alone.

Hunger & Food Insecurity

JFS SOVA COMMUNITY FOOD & RESOURCE PROGRAM

Free nutritious groceries, personal care items, and community resources provided to community members experiencing hunger and food insecurity.

SENIOR NUTRITION DINING CENTERS

Neighborhood dining centers open for a free hot lunch Monday through Friday at various locations throughout Los Angeles. Several sites provide kosher meals.

HOME-DELIVERED MEALS

The Senior Nutrition Program delivers nutritious hot or frozen kosher and non-kosher meals to homebound seniors and people with disabilities.

Community Access and Support

CENTRAL ACCESS

First-response services for community members reaching out to Jewish Family Service LA for support. Services include information and referrals, system navigation, advocacy, and short-term case management. Central Access also offers on-site social work services such as case management, counseling, and information and referrals at JFS SOVA Community Food and Resource Centers. EZRA NETWORK

Jewish Individuals and families are provided with culturally sensitive support and services. Services such as counseling, case management, resources, grants, consultations, workshops, and support groups are offered virtually and on-site at various Jewish institutions throughout LA.

JFS Hope Domestic Violence Program

Shelter and support services including counseling services, legal advocacy, case management, and 24-hour crisis lines for families and their loved ones experiencing intimate partner violence. Services are free and are offered in English and Spanish.

Aging

SENIOR & MULTIPURPOSE CENTERS

Senior and Multipurpose Centers located throughout Los Angeles provide assistance with public benefits, referrals to community resources, case management, social services, recreational activities, educational programs, mental health services, health and wellness programs, and resources for seniors to live independently in their homes.

SPECIALIZED SERVICES

f Survivors of the Holocaust Program: Social services, case management, and Café Europa, a weekly social connection program.

f JFS Care: High quality, reliable, and compassionate in-home care services tailored to your needs.

f Arts, Wellness & Engagement (AWE) Program: Engaging wellness activities for older adults from fitness classes to educational and arts activities, social events, clubs, and more.

f Transportation Program: Shared-ride transportation service for adults 65 and over who have issues with mobility and adults 18 and over with disabilities.

f Disability Program at the West Hollywood Comprehensive Service Center: Services such as assistance with public benefits, referrals to community resources, home installation of assistive devices, case management, and other resources for West Hollywood community members with disabilities aged 18–55.

Special Needs Life Skills

Formerly known as Chaverim and HaMercaz

JFSLA’s Special Needs Life Skills Program provides comprehensive support to individuals with special needs and their families.

f Support Groups: Parents and caregivers can access support groups and workshops.

f Targeted Case Management: Families and individuals with special needs are provided with information and referrals, case management, advocacy assistance, and connection to Jewish community programs.

f Life Skills Program: Adults with special needs are offered weekly activities enabling them to embark on a journey of personal growth, skill development, and social confidence. Participants foster relationships and build a supportive community where they can thrive. Participants are offered volunteer opportunities to work within JFSLA programs with staff support, providing opportunities to build vocational skills and contribute to the community.

Mental Health

Counseling, support, and prevention services for people of all ages, experiences, and backgrounds. Services are offered in multiple languages.

EARLY CHILDHOOD PROGRAM (RAISING BABY)

A free, live online program that provides customized individual sessions with a Parent Coach and Early Childhood Clinician for parents who are in their third trimester of pregnancy and/or recently delivered.

PREGNANCY & POSTPARTUM SUPPORT

f New Moms Connect: An online group that helps new mothers navigate the stressors and symptoms associated with Perinatal & Postpartum Depression and other challenges.

f New Dads Connect: An 8-week online group that helps new fathers access the best ways to support their growing family.

f Pregnancy Support: An 8-week online group that helps pregnant mothers at any stage in their pregnancy prepare for the adjustment to parenthood.
