Spatial Justice Package: Making Spatial Justice Actionable
How can planners, policymakers, researchers, and citizens move from talking about justice to embedding it in urban development and sustainability transitions?
Developed by TU Delft within the Horizon Europe UP2030 project, the Spatial Justice Package is a comprehensive suite of concepts, models, tools, and resources designed to make spatial justice operational in planning and policymaking. The package includes the Spatial Justice Conceptual Model, Spatial Justice Matrix, Benchmarking Tool, Justice Readiness Level, Citizen Voice platform, Spatial Justice Handbook, Strategic Planning Cycle, and supporting catalogues and publications.
This presentation introduces the theoretical foundations of spatial justice and demonstrates how these tools can be used to evaluate urban plans, benchmark justice considerations, strengthen democratic participation, and support more equitable and inclusive sustainability transitions.
