I shaped my first boards beneath my parent’s home, 30 years later and our shaping room is still at the heart of the company, both physically and metaphorically. Living up to our philosophy “non-stop research and development” wouldn’t be possible any other way.

While you have the choice to outsource your resources, our choice is to keep a direct connection between shaper and our testers, graphic designers, and marketing team, all working together in the same building.

Crucial decisions can be taken on the spot without delay, speeding up the complicated process from concept to production ensuring our time is spent on the details, features and most importantly, time testing in the water.

The HardcoreWave V6 are the most versatile Hardcore wave boards ever build since their introduction in our collection. 4 Shapes with 10lt of difference from 98 all the way down to 68 all equipped with 5 Fins slot box to be able to switch from a Thruster to a Quad set up depending on your style.

We have worked on getting these well proven shapes lighter, in order to improve their performance level in every detail.

We have also switched from a Quad fin set to a Thruster fin set coming standard with the boards to improve the versatility of use.

ALLROUND WAVE

The Wave Cult V5 has been an incredibly successful board over the years and is still a competitive board today, so you can imagine the amount of time and development that’s gone into creating it’s successor.

We are proud to introduce the new four new shapes that make the new Wave Cult V6 line up; 74, 82, 90 and 104.

For the last two years we’ve been on an incredible journey with our development program, the possibilities seemed endless, now we’re at its conclusion its easy to see how the V6 became what it is today.

With so many thoughts it’s hard to say which was the key decision along the way, though if pressed I’d have to say starting with a blank sheet opened the possibility to analyze and re-think what the perfect wave board you’d use every day would look like.

We were influenced by a new line of short boards that appeared to have their nose and tail cut off, it’s what we now call the COTAN board (Cut Off Tail and Nose).

While we found lots of innovative inspiration, going for a radically shorter length and accompanying wider tail and nose we were limiting the “allround” nature of the board which is a key feature of the Wave Cults.

WINDSURFING BOARDS FREESTYLE / WAVE BOARDS

We have re-designed the Freestyle Wave range adding to this Version 4 a COTAN touch on the nose. The new outline with Cut Out Nose helps to make this new shape even more compact than the previous version. This feature combined with the refined and thinner rails on the tail and the new thruster fins set-up make those new shapes much more free, alive and responsive to rider’s input no matter if ripping on waves, boosting a jibe or pulling out some trick. The “Power Box” fin system in combination with the 2 side slot box fins, allows finding the perfect trim of the board depending the conditions or the rider’s style: Single Fin for freeride or freestyle oriented session, Tri-Fins looking for more grip or waves to ride!

FEATURES

The Nose features a Cut-Out design that give a more compact feeling to the board.

The Rocker is the same as the previous version. Kicked in the last 40 cms from the nose, straight and fast in the mid/rear section. The Volume displacement has still less volume on the tail and more volume on the nose, to keep the same amazingly well balanced board which ensures its special accurate trim on the water both in planing and non-planing conditions. The simple slight double concave/ V rail to rail configuration of the hull allows a perfect flow and balance over the roughest waters in any conditions.

WINDSURFING BOARDS FREESTYLE / WAVE PRO

The Twin Tip V5 is RRD’s pure blooded long running and highly popular Freestyle Board line.

The version 5 brings one new shape into life, the 91lts. This shape has been shortened down to 230 cm to achieve a more free and easy to jump board. It is also changed in the rail profile: a 5 mm extra bevel on the edge of the hull has been added to create a looser, more free sliding behaviour of the board in the water during power manouvers and doubles.

FEATURES

The Rocker line is essentially the same as the previous version, except that we have taken out the small kick we previously had and this keeps the whole tail area of the rocker line completely flat, and therefore the TT V5 is even quicker to plane.

The very end of the tail features the re-introduction of the so called “spock tail shape” that helps while switching stance, and also enables a more central position of the body during landing, and also prevents the board from sinking on its tail.

As the new school style keeps progressing we want to make sure that our shapes follow the latest trends and deliver pure performance support to serious freestyle riders!

The new explosive X- Fire V9 is born from our endless search for the perfect modern racing machine.

Countless hours of design and testing have been put together yet again by our winning international team in locations all around the world. From the high winds and rough waves of Maui, South Africa, Tenerife and Israel to the light winds and flat waters of Lake Garda and Rome.

The R&D team led by Arnon Dagan and team mates Andrea Rosati and Enrico Marroti have tested the X-Fires to the maximum.

The V9 will most certainly have a thrilling performance on the PWA world tour as its predecessor the V8 had under the feet of Antoine Albeau (23x world windsurfing champion).

For the V9 series we present x5 completely new designs. The goal of foreseeing the ultimate winning needs of the modern racers was achieved yet again!! The V9 is faster, easier, has a bigger wind range and a smooth tight jibing radius that allows a fast exit out of the jibe.

The new innovative cut outs of the V9 will prove this board has what it takes to be the best and stay the best.

This is the new X-Fire Light Wind LTD V2. A new great light wind machine that will make every day the perfect day to go fast on the water.

Finally a real light wind “killer” that proves windsurfing is starting to be fantastic already from 8 knots. Specifically designed to be used with big sail sizes from 8.0 square meters and up, the X-Fire Light Wind LTD takes inspiration from our racing machines used by Antoine Albeau in the PWA world tour and goes one step further in using the physics of light wind weather and pushing the boundaries of efficiency in these very special conditions.

The board is 236 x 91 cms of width, with a very wide tail area designed with a Toro tail profile, to help the planing capacity but also keeping the importance into account of getting the board as free as possible and out of the water once going.

Reaching great top end speeds with such light air has never been easier, also thanks to the big cutouts in the tail area that help releasing the wide tail from the water, making the board rolling onto one side and keeping the low nose profile high enough but perfectly trimmed so that it never flies out.

Once the board is up and going it is so simple to go fast and keep the whole system in control. Jibing this big board is quite easy thanks to the Toro Tail.

WINDSURFING BOARDS FAST FREERIDE /FREE RACE

Originally designed and trimmed to combine early planning, speed, control and easy jibing, the new Firestorm V4 line has been completely re-considered not only in terms of shape and details, but mainly for its program of use.

During the last 48 months since the first introduction of the Firestorm V1 Line, we have consistently kept on shaping new prototypes trying to improve the magic mix of the existing boards. But we could only improve one or two parameters, better upwind or better jibing while keeping the same top speed, but then either early planing or manouverability was being sacrificed.

48 months of development, over 25 prototype boards and over 300 hours of testing time in the water have not managed to improve the magic mix of the V1 and V2 Firestorm shapes.

Then we have started to re-consider the program of use and we have understood that when you choose a new board around the program of “fast freeriding” the most important parameter is SPEED. So the whole concept of creating a 30% faster board whilst keeping early planing and control have given life to a completely new line of Firestorm boards: the VERSION 4.

FEATURES

Based on the outline and scooprocker line of the PWA world champion’s X- Fire V7 boards, the FIRESTORM V3 have taken this shape base and been modified as follows by comparing with the X-Fire boards.

The Outline is slightly narrower in the tail area and has smaller tail cutouts so as to reduce the tail lift when overpowered while keeping the same planing capacity, more suited for freeriding than for pure racing.

The Toro tail is being reduced in terms of extra width over the hull’s wetted surface and has been moved slightly further back, to allow more pressure with your back foot onto the fin without too much effort. This resuLTS in better upwind performance and better average speed in long runs.

The Rocker line, hull shape and volume distribution instead have been kept absolutely the same as X-Fire V7 boards. Same soul as the world champions.

The footstraps inserts have kept the possibility to use a more inboard position for choppy water or more “freeride use” and a more outboard position for flat water or “top speed” setting.

The result of all these features has allowed us to create 3 brand new boards that will help improve your speed on the water and give you immense joy to stay ahead of the others.

Remember, before buying any new boards, go test them in one of our test centers around the world. Speed cannot be cheated, so try and verify what we say with your GPS on your arm or by comparing with a friend on another board.

WIDE BODY FREEMOVE

Innovating a benchmark is never an easy task, but we did it! The 3rd version of the most wanted boards in our range are now out and planing.

The Firemove V3 family has gone one step up in every category of use: • Early planing: the wider nose shape with a “COTAN” design ( cut off tail and nose) has allowed a more concentrated volume distribution on the nose without the need to thicken up or lengthen the board.

• Jiibing: the new outline “kink” in correspondance of the one foot tail area, allows the lines of the board to become more parallel and create better jibing potential, especially at hi speed.

• Top Speed: this tail area reduction created by the new tail outline has also created a better top end speed potential, especially when riding on choppy water.

All in all we have kept the same “easy & accessible “ feel of this magic board program, boosting the performance level on every new shape we have redesigned from scratch. The footstraps inserts have kept the possibility to use a more inboard position for choppy water or more “freeride use”.

These inserts also allow the rider to position themselves in a more outboard position for flat water or “top speed” sailing.

Our first inflatable planing freeride windsurf board.

We are particularly proud of this board since it has taken more than one prototype and more than 1000 hours of hard work in designing, moulding, testing and changing everything from zero. We have put together an unbeatable board that will make you enthusiastic about the way it planes, accelerates and reaches incredible top speeds!

Specifically recommended for freeriding, this is the real first step towards and new way of windsurfing at full speed planing before a composite freeride boards.

First of all we have based the whole concept of the Air Windsurf freeride on the exceptional experience we have gathered with our exclusive SBS or Sandwich Dyneema Belt that allows to make inflatable boards that are 30% stiffer than a conventional board.

But for the Air Windsurf board we have gone one step further and used 3 x SBS Sandwich Dyneema Belts instead of only one like we use on our SUP boards.

3 x SBS Sandwich Dyneema belts mean 3 x times the stiffness of a conventional Inflatable board, and this is exactly how this board will feel when trying to flex it.

It’s almost as stiff as an epoxy board! Once we have achieved a super rigid structure we have started to think of a special way to create an efficient way to make the board get on a plane as quickly as possible, jibe properly and make sure that you could stay upwind and go fast on a reach.

For this we have developed 2 x specific exclusive accessories that have been assembled into the board itself: 1) An exclusive ITB or Integrated Tuttle Box system that is moulded and glued inside the board. With this box we have been able to create a box and a fin system that has the same stiffness as a composite board. A stiff box and fin will make this board plane, go upwind and fast as a real freeride composite board.

2) An exclusive SPSP Soft PVC Sharp rail Profile with a hollow chamber that allows to create a perfect water release off the board’s hull and rolls up perfectly and quickly without creating wrinkles on the TUE line.

These 3 features together: 3 x "SBS" Sandwich Dyneema Belts, the ITB (Integrated Tuttle Box) and the SPSP (Soft PVC Sharp Rail Profile ) are the backbone of the performance level of this extraordinary board range that is about to be introduced in the market and will be changing forever that way we think of windsurfing.

The Four is our powerful 4 batten wave sail. Plenty of drive and plenty of power to keep you going through everything. Whether it’s on the wave or in the air, the powerful compact foil of the Four gives you huge amounts of drive and response.

The Four continues to be a favourite amongst those riders who like to have some power in their hands. For the MK6 we combined feedback from both the Four and the Vogue, to continue to move the Four forward, taking some of the control features of the Vogue, but applying them to the powerful foil of the Four. The result is the same levels of power, acceleration and feeling that Four users have always loved, but with higher levels of control at the top end.

This is the sail for the rider that wants to feel the sail in the hands and use that feeling and feedback to add explosion through their moves.

Our radical 3 batten design with increased power and smother handling. Incredible light and amazingly manoeuvrable, this is the sail for wave riding rippers.

The Gamma has proved to be hugely popular amongst the wave riding enthusiasts. Power through the bottom turn and incredible handling off the top; This characteristic blend is the wave riders dream. The 3 batten frame allows the sail to move with the rider, forgiving any mistakes. Our goal for the MK3 was to increase the low end power and we achieved this through increased shaping and modifications to the outline. Furthermore we smoothed out this additional power by switching to a Dacron luff panel. Overall the Mk 3 has more power, easier handling allowing more freedom to express on the wave.

Optimised for surfing the wave, but highly capable in the air. This is the sail for the rider who prioritizes riding.

The Move has proved over the years to be the most successful sail in our line up. Its continued domination of magazine tests in all sizes, makes it very hard to beat. Morphing through the sizes from a 5 batten power wave in the 4.2 through to a 6 batten blaster in the 7.2, each size of the Move is designed to maximise the conditions. In the smaller sizes this means control, which has been further improved in the MK5. Then as the sizes increase the sail smoothly changes towards more flat water usage, with the 6.7 and 7.2 offering a more locked down blastabilty. Optimised for early planing, the Evolution gets the rider moving quickly, plus with great control and ease of use the fun factor is unbeatable.

The Mk9 sees an additional sail in the line up. Offering more in the key 6.0-7.5 size range, we now feature 6.3, 6.8 and 7.3, giving more options to everyone. Learning from our Firewing development program we modified the lower leech tension, increasing the bottom end power and locking this power low down in the sail. We then added negative leech curve to the outline to improve the control and by doing so increase the overall range of the sail. The Fire continues to be a gem in our lineup, offering incredible stability and top end control, but in an easy to use no cam sail that is light and forgiving. By increasing the lower leech tension we could improve both the low end power and also the stability of the sail. By modifying the outline and increasing the negative leech curve we increased the top end control. The result was both improvements in the low end and in the top end, giving a significant overall increase in range.

The Fire MK5 is for the sailor that wants easy rigging and easy sailing, but at the same time top end performance. This sail goes perfectly with the Firestorm or even the X-fire.

The Kid joy has had a complete makeover. New sizes, new concept and a new look. The goal after working with our numerous schools around the World was to have the smaller sizes in particular, much lighter and also offer additional models to make life as easy as possible during the learning stages. An additional 0.8 gives the smaller riders more time on the water and a closer spacing of 0.8/1.0/1.2/1.5/2.0, gives them the perfect tool for learning as they grow and progress. New concepts in the complete package further help to keep weight to a minimum and make life easy. Split luff sleeve, full x-ply and fixed booms, help keep the weight to an absolute minimum particularly up high where it is most noticeable when uphauling.

100% 3K pregreg carbon. No expense spared to make the lightest and highest performance extension on the market. A CNC Alloy base unit keeps the weight to an absolute minimum whilst guaranteeing a consistent manufacturing level.

Pro level T9 Alloy makes for incredible strength to weight levels. The same CNC Alloy base unit as the Dynamic Pro makes this extension both durable and light.

AVANT SDM T8 Alloy coupled with a stainless steel base, makes the Avant Extension built for abuse.

RIG COMPONENTS

Made in Europe out of the best quality pre-preg carbon Toray T700 and T800, our masts offer an incredibly high reflex response. Designed with a progressive constant curve, our masts are not only ideally suited to RRD sails, but also fit the majority of other brands.

NEW “feather tip” layup – By reducing the weight by nearly 20% in the top section of the mast, we were not only able to save nearly 10% overall weight, but more significantly bring the centre of gravity down, multiplying that saving even further, and giving an incredible light feel without compromising our famous durability.

NEW Plexiglass protection – A customised Plexiglass tape not only adds Italian style, but also provides additional protection to the bottom section of the mast, where the majority of the abuse occurs.

NEW Virtual IMCS – Through thorough testing we found that although IMCS ratings (stiffness) are equal in different carbon contents, the feel on the water is not the same. We therefore developed our own Virtual IMCS, that makes small modifications to the stiffness of the mast depending on the carbon %. The result means that no matter what your budget, you know you will get the perfect performance from our sails.

FIREWING PRO – A stand alone program designed specifically around our cammed Firewing sail. The lightest mast possible with absolutely zero compromise. Boom head: The most versatile boom head on the market. A removable adaptor allows the front end to fit any mast, whether its SDM or RDM. Our front end offers the perfect mix of strength and stiffness, whilst remaining comfortable to use and forgiving on the mast.

Boom curves: Every boom length has a specific bend curve to perfectly suit its range of use and making riding as comfortable as possible.

Custom tail bends: Like the boom curves, the tail bends are custom designed for each boom length. Wide for power on the larger sizes. Narrow for control on the small sizes.

Custom pulley/cleat systems: Quick and simple loop go system on all wave and freeride booms, whilst the race booms feature high quality pulley heels for top performance when used with adjustable outhaul systems.

Internal textured grip: Giving new levels of grip on the inside of the boom.
