Grommets The grommet is the signature hardware in many of our hats, and has been our mark of function and quality for more than a generation.

Anti-microbial Fabric or fibre has been treated to inhibit the growth of micro-organisms or is a naturally anti-microbial fibre such as hemp.

Enzyme-washed A finished hat washing process resulting in a worn-in vintage look. See T3W Wanderer hat.

Tee holder & magnetic ball marker Featured on our Clubhouse hat, there is a magnetic ball marker sublely on the brim and a tee holder featured on the crown.

Tuckaway Ear Warmers Discreet tuck away ear warmers/flaps to use when the wind starts to blow. Neatly hides within the crown of the hat.

Reflective Subtle details such as windcords or logo tabs are visible in low light settings to keep the wearer safe.

Materials & Technologies From materials built to withstand the test of time to technologies that enhance your outdoor experience, our products are crafted to the highest standards. At Tilley, we take pride in what goes into our outdoor wear.

100% Recycled Nylon 100% recycled nylon with PU membrane for water resistance and wind proofing, creating an extremely hardworking textile to keep you protected during all sorts of weather conditions.

Wool Felt A non-woven fabric, wool felt is incredibly soft, yet strong and durable against winter conditions. Wool felt also has great insulating features, keeping the heat in and cold out when temperatures drop.

Cotton Duck A classic and durable fabric that is part of Tilley’s heritage. Naturally water resistant, our Cotton Duck fabric naturally fades with age, giving it a unique look for every hat owner.

Hemp Hemp’s tensile strength is eight times that of cotton fibre which accounts for its historical use in sails and rope. It is an exceptionally durable and strong ecofriendly fabric.

Waxed Cotton Our iconic cotton is treated with an eco-friendly, water repellent finish that will change colour over time, offering a unique, aged look.

Braided Raffia Made from the finest quality Madagascar fibre. Raffia is known for its rich colouring, flexibility and durability.

Lightweight Nylon Featuring a durable water repellent (DWR) finish, this lightweight breathable fabric allows air to pass in and out of the hat keeping the wearer cool and comfortable.

Organic Cotton Our Organic Cotton hats and apparel start with sustainable, eco-friendly practices to deliver a fabric that naturally breathes, dries fast, and keeps you cool and comfortable.

Mash-up Cotton A recycled mash up of Organic Cotton, Polyester and Rayon yarns creating a unique lightweight fabric.

Rated UPF 50+ Similar to SPF, a UPF rating is given to apparel that has been tested and proven to block a certain amount of ultraviolent radiation, with a maximum rating being 50+.

Schoeller® Technologies 3XDRY® Bio Bio

3XDry® Bio fabric is both hydrophilic and hydrophobic! This means that the outside of the textile is water and dirt repellent. At the same time, on the inside of the textile perspiration is quickly absorbed and transported away from the body. Moisture is distributed over the surface and evaporates rapidly.

Schoeller® Technologies c_change™ membrane c_change always ensures the optimum body climate. The membrane adapts to the conditions as it is highly breathable and carries away moisture and excessive heat. In addition, it offers ideal heat retention depending on the situation. Being windproof and waterproof, c_change protects the wearer in all kinds of weather and has been tested under extreme weather conditions in practice.

Airflo® Using mesh panelling at the top of the crown, our Airflo technology allows air to flow through the hat to both let cool air in and hot air out. You will notice that Airflo hats hit higher on your head - this allows the 3/4 inch mesh panel to be unobstructed.

Hyperkewl™ Evaporative Cooling Hyperkewl™ Evaporative Cooling material is a unique fabric that absorbs and slowly releases water through evaporation. These products utilize a patented polymer technology to achieve rapid absorption and stable water storage.
