DESIGN A revitalization project for The Freshwater Apartments Penthouse in Niseko, Hokkaido. This penthouse is perched on the top floor, offering stunning near 270-degree views, including Mt. Yotei, a picturesque river, all while being just a short walk away from the ski slopes. The problem at hand was the existing layout, which consisted of two separate penthouses and a studio apartment had aged, was fragmented and underutilized. The challenge was to transform this space into a modern, cohesive penthouse that would fully capitalize on its breathtaking surroundings and revitalize the uppermost floor for sales. To tackle this, I decided to merge the two penthouses and the studio apartment into one large, contemporary penthouse. I envisioned two distinct zones: an entertainment area and a relaxation haven. In the entertainment zone, I created an open-plan living space that seamlessly integrated the kitchen, bar, living area, and dining space. The kitchen was designed as the centerpiece, featuring high-end appliances hidden behind stylish cabinetry. This allowed the kitchen island to shine as an inviting entertainment bench and bar without any distractions. For relaxation, residents could choose to unwind in the comfortable living area, dine at the elegant table, or enjoy an intimate soak in the spa for two on the balcony. And for those seeking privacy, there was an entertainment room with seating for four, complete with a personal wine cellar for connoisseurs. The relaxation zone was strategically designed as a peaceful sanctuary. Here, residents could retire to their private bedroom in a tranquil and isolated environment, away from the hustle and bustle of the entertainment area. In the end, the revitalization of The Freshwater Boutique Apartments Penthouse in Niseko, Hokkaido, transformed the space into a harmonious and luxurious retreat. It perfectly balanced social gatherings and peaceful solitude, all while making the most of its breathtaking location at the gateway to Niseko.

A PLACE TO RELAX Continuing our journey through The Freshwater Boutique Apartments Penthouse, once you step out of the communal foyer and enter the penthouse's formal lobby, you will be greeted with two distinct choices: Entertainment: If you're in the mood for a lively, social atmosphere, you'll find the active and public entertainment zone. This area seamlessly combines the kitchen, bar, dining space, living area, and even a private entertainment room. It's the perfect place for hosting gatherings, enjoying delicious meals, and making memories with friends and family. Intimacy: For those seeking a more serene and private experience, we have the dedicated intimacy zone. This area has been thoughtfully designed to provide a peaceful environment for relaxation and solitude. Strategically separated from the active part of the penthouse, this is where you can retreat to your bedroom and unwind in complete privacy, far away from the bustling entertainment area.
