Our friendly and knowledgeable sales, financing, service, and parts departments are ready to offer outstanding service at every point, from assisting while you’re making your choice to ongoing maintenance and customization. At Powersports Northwest, we value the opportunity to create a long-term relationship with our customers, and we do that by making sure to exceed your expectations.

Our History

Powersports Northwest has a long history and deep roots in our community. Powersports Northwest was originally founded in 1972 as “Steve’s Suzuki,” and was owned by Steve and Diane Rasmusson. This dealership was a small store with only the Suzuki franchise and five or six employees. Dave Lipinski was hired in June 1972 as an apprentice mechanic. Jeff Ashe began his career in the summer of 1974 also as an apprentice mechanic. However, small stores being what they are, both young men learned to work in several departments. In 1977, Steve was ready to change careers, and a deal was arranged for Jeff and Dave to buy the store. The name of the store was then changed to “Suzuki Northwest” in 1978. In 1979 Jeff and Dave acquired the Yamaha franchise from The Yardbirds Shopping Center. They opened a new facility in Centralia, and named the new business “Centralia Yamaha.” In 1981, they decided to consolidate the two stores into one location, and renamed the combined business “Suzuki-Yamaha Northwest.” Then in 1988, they acquired the Honda franchise by purchasing Kelly’s Sport Shop in neighboring Chehalis. The business remained it its existing location, but was renamed “Chehalis Honda & Marine.” Finally in 1991, Jeff and Dave purchased and remodeled their existing facility. Both businesses moved into the renovated building in March of 1992, and named the store “Powersports Northwest.” Powersports Northwest now employs 15 top-quality people, with decades of combined experience. They strive to provide the best service to their customers, many of whom have been frequenting the store for over 30 years! We support community riding events, too. Stop by, and see for yourself why hundreds of satisfied customers keep coming back again and again.

Advertiser Showcase: Boulder Equipment Boulder Equipment was started in 1998 by owner Rod Peters, serving the Puget Sound and Western Washington area for over 21 years. Boulder Equipment is located in Olympia, WA on Hwy 101.

Rod was a general contractor prior to starting Boulder Equipment. Discovering there was a need for small affordable used tractors, Rod started Boulder Equipment in a warehouse north of Shelton, WA importing containers of used Japanese tractors. He would add front end loader kits and refurbish them, selling them to people passing by his location. He built his business on hard work and customer service. His best form of advertisement in the beginning was word of mouth from satisfied customers.

In 2003 Rod moved locations from Shelton to Olympia. In that same year, Rod became a dealer for Mahindra Tractors and Branson Tractors. Soon Rod added the Braber Agriease line of tractor attachments to his business. A company locally based in the Northwest. Business grew with the addition of new tractor and attachment sales. A growing customer base added to the service side of the business as well. Over the next few years more employees were added to the team to keep up with the ever-growing demand of Boulder Equipment. With the growth a website for the business was created. Advertising in Magazines and on the Radio helped Boulder Equipment reach a whole new demographic of customers.

In 2008 Rod added the sales and servicing of golf and utility carts to the business. Adding a new wave of customers to the growth of Boulder Equipment. This aspect of the business has captured a needed niche in the community. Customers from all over the Puget Sound region visit Boulder for the golf cart side of the business. Service and customizations of golf carts play a very big role in the business today.

Rod built his business on a foundation of fair and honest business practice.

Customer service has always been the top priority at Boulder Equipment. Rod never sees problems, only solutions in his business. His employees will tell you there isn’t a greater boss to work for than Rod. Here’s how it works: You bring the vehicle with a clear WA state title and your valid I.D, and we will pawn it for approximately half of the wholesale value of the vehicle—minimum pawn amount is $1,500. The vehicle and the title stay with us for the duration of the contract. That’s quick and easy money! The whole process takes about half an hour.
