What are Year 13 doing this week? (Year 12 all week on study leave) Monday: Chapel Tuesday: form time revision and/or MOOCS Wednesday: Life Skills - DVD covering sex and relationships; this sets the scene for the Life Skills talk on Thursday Thursday: House Assembly.

Life Skills talk 'Consent'. This is a workshop run by external speakers. The aim is to encourage conversations about consent amongst young people in order to challenge sexually harmful attitudes. It aims to give young people the appropriate language and confidence needed to enable them to respect their own and others' sexual boundaries.

Higher Education Forum for Year 12 On Thursday 9th June, from 7.15pm we are holding a Higher Education Forum for all Year 12 students and their parents.

We have invited a representative from the University of Birmingham to give advice and information regarding student applications, and we will explain how we support and assist students here. This event has been scheduled to enable the girls to have sufficient time to use the valuable advice offered during the evening to inform the writing of their Personal Statements and still allow sufficient time for their tutors to advise them before the end of Trinity Term.

It is our expectation that all students will attend. The event will last approximately one hour, and will be held in the New Mark Hall.

Student Finance For students who are starting university or college in 2016/17, it’s time to remind you that the deadline to apply for student finance is 27 May 2016.

If you don’t apply before this date, they might not get the money in time for the start of your course.

The quickest and easiest way to apply is online at www.gov.uk/studentfinance For everything students need to know about student finance, visit SFE’s Student Finance Zone on The Student Room at www.thestudentroom.co.uk/studentfinance If you’ve already started their application online, remember to log back into your student finance account now and finish it before the deadline. Sixth Form News The Sixth From Mile On Thursday this week the whole Sixth Form (and Staff!) completed a mile walk in form time.

It was a lovely day and a great opportunity to relax, get some fresh air and some exercise. It is very important when revising to take regular breaks and I think most of the girls enjoyed the opportunity to have a light hearted half hour of walking and talking. I hope to bring this into our schedule more regularly next year.

If you feel unwell on the day of the exam, tell Ms Smith immediately.

EXAMINATION TIMES All examinations start at: 9.00am for the morning session and 1.30pm for the afternoon session 

You should arrive at least 15 minutes before the examination begins - you may not be given extra time if you are late.



Please leave enough time for your journey to allow for train cancellations/traffic jams/ breakdowns etc. Remember the road-works that are taking place outside!!!!

WHERE? All examinations this summer will take place in the Great Hall, Weybridge and Scarbrough Gallery. A list of venues and start times will be posted on the Examinations Notice Board between Rooms 22 and 23.

ARRIVE ON TIME Please be at outside the appropriate room 15 minutes before the start time of the examination.

WHAT YOU WILL NEED 

CANDIDATE NUMBER If you do not know your candidate number you will find it on the Examinations Notice Board between Rooms 22 and 23.



EQUIPMENT NEEDED FOR THE EXAM e.g. pens with black ink, pencils, erasers, calculators, HB pencil for multiple-choice exams. Please note - you are required to write in black ink. You must not use: correcting pens, fluid or tape, erasable pens, highlighters or gel pens to write your answers.

EXAMINATIONS continued THE EXAMINATION ITSELF 

Once you enter the examination hall you are under examination conditions. You may not speak to other candidates.



Please do not bring a bag with you to your examination. If you do, you will be asked to leave it outside the exam room. Do not bring anything which is valuable with you – leave it all in your locker!



You must not bring a mobile phone or any potential technological/web enabled sources of information into the Hall with you – even if it is switched off and in your pocket. This is an Examination Board regulation.



Due to the introduction of smart watches, all watches are banned from the Hall. If you do need to wear a watch you must seek authorisation from Ms Smith before the start of the examination.



Only clear plastic pencil cases or clear plastic bags are allowed on the desk. Bring enough spare pens/pencils/calculator batteries. In emergency it may be possible to loan you a pencil/ruler/calculator, but please do not count on this.



If you have extra time and/or use of a dictionary, please ensure that you are given a red slip and put it on your desk in a prominent position so that the invigilators know who you are.



If you require an inhaler or the use of any other medication during the exam, please inform the Invigilator at the start of the exam. This will need to be checked and left on the exam desk.



You are permitted to take water into the exam room however this must be in a clear plastic bottle with all labels removed.



Calculators must be placed on the desk so that staff can clear the memory before the start of the examination. The calculator lid is not permitted on your desk in the exam.



YOU WILL NOT BE ALLOWED TO LEAVE THE EXAMINATION ROOM UNTIL THE END OF THE EXAMINATION
