UPGRADING OUR FIRE DEPARTMENT THROUGH ‘MANITOBA GRO’ GRANT
This $1.7-million investment will help the RM of Ste. Anne Fire Department upgrade essential vehicles and equipment, strengthening emergency response for our small rural community and the many travellers who rely on the Trans-Canada Highway which spans our municipality.
The RM of Ste. Anne is pleased to announce that we have received funding from the provincial Manitoba GRO Grant, in the amount of 1.7 million dollars, for our fire department restoration project. This project will include upgrading essential vehicles and equipment to strengthen our emergency response.
The grant will fund the replacement of two aging fire trucks and outdated extrication equipment, including the Jaws of Life, as well as the purchase of a new fire response pick-up truck. These upgrades are essential to enhancing, and improving, our emergency response times and capabilities.

HOMEOWNERS AFFORDABILITY
TAX CREDIT REMINDER
The Province of MB has announced the Homeowners Affordability Tax Credit (HATC) will increase to a maximum of $1,600 for the 2026 tax year.
Eligible homeowners who received the HATC in 2025 will automatically be rolled over to the 2026 program and do not need to re-submit their self declaration form if there was no ownership change.
The Homeowners Affordability Tax Credit (HATC) is a Provincial Credit for homeowners to offset their school tax payable in Manitoba. The credit can only be claimed on a homeowner’s principal residence. A principal residence is a single residential dwelling unit in Manitoba that is owned by an individual or their spouse or common-law partner and that is the primary residence of the individual or the individual’s cohabiting spouse or common-law partner.
Please note that as of March 12, 2026, the province confirmed that Paradise Village is eligible for the tax credit for 2026. For questions or concerns regarding this, please contact general@rmofsteanne.com.
In order for you to receive the HATC automatically on your annual property tax bill, you must have self-declared your principal residence with your Municipality before the tax statements are in production. If you did not declare your residence before then, or if you are not eligible to have the HATC applied on your annual property tax bill, you may claim this credit on your 2026 income tax. 2025 MASC FARMLAND SCHOOL TAX REBATE DEADLINE
Did you know that landowners who pay taxes on “Farm Property” class lands, as shown on the annual tax statement, are eligible for up to 40% of school taxes (up to a maximum of $2,500).
The deadline to apply is March 31st annually and proof that the property taxes are paid in full is required with your application. If you need a copy of your receipt from the RM of Ste. Anne, please simply email your request to general@rmofsteanne.com and be sure to list the Roll numbers of the affected properties.

Did you know that RM residents can access the Ste. Anne library for free? No membership fee for an open and welcoming space full of creativity, innovation, and community spirit. If you haven’t visited lately, you might be surprised by everything it has to offer!
The library is an affordable way for families to access books in English and French. Whether you’re looking for young children’s books, teenage reads, or a fresh novel for an adult, the Ste. Anne library has so much literature to offer and thanks to the library’s inter-library loan program, you can request almost any book from nearby libraires. The book will be borrowed from another library and delivered to the Ste. Anne library within a few days! Your reading choices go far beyond the local shelves.
For those that enjoy a digital read, the library also offers access to Libby, a free user-friendly app filled with e books and audiobooks you can borrow anytime, anywhere. Signing up is easy and can be done by contacting the librarian for your login information.
The Maker’s Space
The library is more than just a quiet space to read and borrow books; the Ste. Anne library also offers a dedicated crafting room that is every maker’s dream! Inside, you’ll find:

. A sewing machine
. A 3D printer
. Art supplies
. And Computers
The machines themselves are completely free to use, and if you bring your own materials, your project costs nothing at all. If you need supplies, the library offers them at a very low, affordable price, making creativity accessible to everyone!

There’s no shortage of fun at the library. They continue to grow as a space for connection and discovery allowing members to enjoy a cozy corner with a variety of board games, where you can enjoy an afternoon or evening with some

Make sure your name is added before the next municipal election!
If you are a Canadian citizen, 18 years of age or older on election day, and meet one of the following criteria, you are eligible to vote in the upcoming municipal election:
• You have lived in the municipality for at least six months before October 28, 2026 (election day), or
• You are a non-resident who has owned property in the municipality for at least six months before election day.
To be included on the Voters List, your name, address, and (if applicable) property information must be registered with the Senior Election Official (SEO).
Contact the Municipal Office to register to vote and ensure you’re on the list.
For those concerned about personal security, you may apply to have your personal information omitted or obscured from the public voters list. A person whose name has been obscured will receive a Personal Security Certificate and identification number. In a civic election, that person may only vote by sealed envelope ballot.

Did you know that in most areas of our Rural Municipality, roosters are not permitted? While they may bring a touch of country charm, their early-morning (and sometimes latenight) crowing can cause quite a disturbance!
Please remember that chickens and roosters are only allowed on a property if a valid permit has been issued by the Municipality. Even in zones where they are permitted—such as the Agriculture-Mixed Use Zone—our Noise By-law still applies. If a rooster’s crowing becomes disruptive, particularly during nighttime hours, the Municipality may require its removal.
