BUILDING THE FOUNDATION FOR OUR SUCCESS

Our Building Blocks are those who sponsor RMHC special events with gifts of $1,000 or more, or host third-party events that raise $1,000. By underwriting and hosting these fundraisers, Building Blocks help fund our core programs while reducing expenses. This helps ensure that our individual donors’ contributions directly provide comfort, care and a home-away-fromhome for seriously ill children and their families. COMFORT, CARE AND A PLACE TO CALL HOME

When you have a child in the hospital, life turns upside down. But what if you had three children in the hospital and the best medical care was more than three hours away from home?

When she was seven months pregnant, Emily Gegg gave birth to triplet boys: Corbin, Carson and Cannon. All three babies were taken to the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit at Mercy Children's Hospital immediately after they were born, where they stayed for 24 long days. Being the parent of a NICU baby can be an overwhelming, round-theclock job. For Emily and her husband, Nathan, it was exponentially more complicated with all three boys needing treament so far from their hometown of Ste. Genevieve, Missouri. Thankfully, the Ronald McDonald House became their home-away-from-home. For the duration of the boys' NICU stay she and Nathan were able to be just steps away. And for that, they were forever grateful.

"The care and attention that we gave the boys would not have been possible if we were not given the opportunity to stay nearby at the Ronald McDonald House," says Nathan.
