countless children struggle to access the dental care they need, facing barriers that go beyond just cavities. Oral health affects much more than many people realize, especially in children; it can impact how they perform in school, how they are treated by their peers, and most critically, how they feel about themselves.
For more than 22 years, Ronald McDonald House Charities® of the Ozarks has championed a fundamental resource to empower kids to reclaim their oral health. The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®, affectionately known as the Tooth Truck, delivers essential dental care to underserved children throughout our area, restoring smiles and confidence while also providing critical education to help them maintain those smiles going forward.
The Tooth Truck has a mission that goes beyond fixing teeth—a mission centered around creating brighter futures. Thanks to the generous support of caring individuals within our community, we’re able to continue making a real impact on the health and happiness of kids who might otherwise go without care.

Meet Tyberius

Tyberius, a bright 9-year-old, has always had big dreams… dreams to become a dentist. That was what made his recent visits to the Tooth Truck even more exciting! Now he's even more determined to make a big impact as a dentist who cares and helps people, inspired by Dr. Sarah’s kindness and compassion and the restorative services he received at the Tooth Truck.
It started with a black spot on his tooth that Tyberius first thought might be pepper, but rapidly realized was something much more serious. Three visits to the Tooth Truck saw the removal of two teeth, as well as a visit from the tooth fairy, to ensure his adult teeth have a healthy environment in which to grow. The experience was transformative for Tyberius, who no longer fears bullying and encourages all children who need assistance to see Dr. Sarah and learn about keeping their mouths healthy.
Tyberius’s story is just one example of how the Tooth Truck is transforming lives. Your donation can help provide essential dental care to more children like him, giving them not only the smiles they deserve, but the resources and the confidence to preserve them.

This is seen in examples like Mrs. Upton’s Deaf and Hard of Hearing classroom at Holland Elementary. When she learned about The Healthy Smiles Academy, she immediately saw the potential to provide her students with hands-on experience in a way that would help instill a lifetime of healthy habits. Her students now proudly brush their teeth daily, enjoying their clean smiles in the mirror and even showing off to their classmates. Mrs. Upton shared that her students are more comfortable with dental care and have transferred these habits to their homes.
Thanks to The Healthy Smiles Academy, they’re learning lessons that will stay with them for years.
The Healthy Smiles Academy is growing rapidly, already impacting over 14,500 students. The mission is to prevent tooth decay, the #1 chronic childhood disease, by giving kids the tools and knowledge they need to care for their teeth from a young age. The program not only provides classroom visits and fun educational presentations, but it also ensures children have the supplies and support to brush their teeth at home.

A Brighter Smile
Tremaine is a 17-year-old student attending Central High School. During a recent Tooth Truck visit to his school, we learned he had 9 teeth in need of dental attention. Tremaine attends partial days at Central, so the Tooth Truck staff worked with his availability to ensure he received all the appointments needed to achieve a cavity-free smile. While he is beginning to think about his future after graduation, he can take pride in having a healthy smile as he takes on the adult world. Tremaine visited the Tooth Truck five times for a total of $4,542 in dental treatment.
