The Tooth Truck met 5 year-old Ryder while

working at Ash Grove Elementary.

When we first got Ryder from class, his teacher let us know he struggled to make good choices in the classroom and feared he may not do well for his dental cleaning and exam. Our staff was delighted to report Ryder was a perfect patient for us at each and every appointment.

He listened, he sat still, and had a positive attitude during his cleaning and four return visits to repair 8 cavities for a dollar value of $2,881. To celebrate Ryder’s positive choices, he earned the “best patient” award from the Tooth Truck and also was rewarded by his teacher in the classroom. We often say dentistry is only half of what we do; we love boosting self-esteem and what better way to do so then celebrating good behavior for kiddos like Ryder.

The Sertoma GRIN IRON CLASSIC is much more than an All-Star High School Football Game. Everyone involved is contributing to a charitable cause that will benefit children right here in the Ozarks. All of the proceeds from this event are being donated to the Tooth Truck (Springfield’s Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®). This mobile dental unit provides free dental treatment and prevention education for at risk children in our local communities.

20th Annual Sertoma GRIN IRON CLASSIC The 20th Annual Sertoma GRIN IRON CLASSIC (GIC), Southwest Missouri’s All-Star High School Football Game, will not be held in 2021 due to COVID-19. Slated for Friday, June 4th at Parkview High School’s JFK Stadium, the event benefits the Tooth Truck, a mobile dental clinic for at-risk children serving the Springfield area for nearly 19 years.

Nearly 100 local high school athletes from Southwest Missouri have been selected by the SW MO High School Football Coaches Association for this East vs West All-Star competition, hosted by the All-Star Smiles Sertoma Club.

The Ronald McDonald Care Mobile is 43 feet in length, 8-1/2 feet wide, 12 feet 10 inches tall and built to handle extreme weather conditions.

The unit features a self-contained water system and is completely heated and air conditioned to operate in any season. Advances in dental technology are such that any treatment that does not require complete sedation may be performed on the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile.
