Welcome to the 4th Annual Sertoma GRIN ACTION CLASSIC, the All-Star High School Volleyball Tournament for Southwest Missouri.

Last year’s event was a huge success and we’re pleased to continue

this annual tradition for graduated seniors. Area volleyball coaches have worked hard to establish this second leg of our “All-Star Weekend” and we are truly grateful for their efforts in creating a tradition to showcase Southwest Missouri’s best volleyball players.

The GRIN ACTION CLASSIC helps support the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®, fondly known as the “Tooth Truck”. Over the past 13 years, 18,000 at risk children have received free dental care and prevention education through 43,000 dental appointments and treatment valued at over $10.3 million. This volleyball tournament will help Tooth Truck kids begin good habits during childhood to ensure dental health for all of their lives.

4th Annual Sertoma GRIN ACTION CLASSIC The 4th Annual Sertoma GRIN ACTION CLASSIC (GAC) is the Springfield-North-South-East-West All-Star High School Volleyball Tournament for Southwest Missouri. Presented

by Delta Dental of Missouri and the Heart of the Ozarks Sertoma Club, the event benefits the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile®, fondly known as the “Tooth Truck”. The GAC is organized by area volleyball coaches, hosted by the All-Star Smiles Sertoma Club, and proudly features nearly 40 of the Ozarks’ best varsity volleyball players, all graduated seniors.

In addition to the presenting sponsorship gifts of Delta Dental and HOTO Sertoma, our in-kind sponsors that go a long way in making the event possible are The Team, McCann Printing, McDonald’s, Price Cutter, Mercy Sports Medicine and Springfield Public Schools. Last, but certainly not least, we thank our media partners: Mediacom and Midwest Family Broadcasting.

Thanks to GAC supporters like the sponsors, advertisers in this program, fans and participants, the Tooth Truck began treating at risk children on July 8, 2002, one month after the first GIC. Since that time, 43,000 dental appointments have been provided for 18,000 at risk children on our mobile dental clinic. The total value of dental treatment provided exceeds $10.3 million! The Tooth Truck visits local schools, five days each week. Summers are dedicated to summer school kids, the Boys & Girls Clubs, Salvation Army and foster children. School nurses are an integral part of the program’s success as are our dedicated dentists and staff members: Full-time General Dentist, Dr. Sarah Cimino, Part-Time General Dentists Dr. Aaron Dannegger, Dr. Brett Durbin and Dr. Randi Green; Program Director Mindy Munoz; Office Manager Emma Davis; Full-Time Dental Assistants Megan Lambert and

Kim Otradovec; Part-Time Dental Assistant Jackie Malik: Healthy Smiles Academy Manager Alise Deines and our wonderful volunteers.

The Tooth Truck patients step onto the Ronald McDonald Care Mobile with the warm friendship of special volunteers and staff who teach them about good dental habits and prevention. Our goal is for each child to complete their dental treatment plan, achieving big healthy smiles and warm feelings inside about themselves.

None of this would be possible without the wonderful network of support surrounding the Tooth Truck and our kids.
