Two For One The Arbaugh Family's Story
Hello, we are the Arbaugh family! We want to take a moment to tell you a bit of our story and our experience at the Ronald McDonald House in Louisville. Our journey began in May when we found out that we were expecting a baby Little did we know when we went to our first ultrasound that we were having TWINS!
Everything was perfect until the morning of September 14th At 9:30 am, my water broke at just 20 weeks. I left work and went straight to the hospital, where they confirmed our biggest fear They told us I would deliver within 24 to 48 hours, and our babies wouldn’t make it. It crushed us.
Thankfully, that wasn’t the case. Our babies waited to make their arrival At 24 weeks, my doctor suggested we transfer to Norton Children’s Hospital, where they had a better Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) for premature babies We didn’t think twice about it. We immediately packed up and drove 3 hours from our home in Ashland to Louisville
At 27 weeks, we welcomed two beautiful baby girls into the world. Taelynn Grace weighed 1 pound 10 oz , and her sister, Trinity Faith, weighed 1 pound 13 oz. They’re nothing short of a miracle!
Thanks to the Ronald McDonald House, we were able to stay close to our babies while they grew and learned to breathe on their own It was such a blessing to have a place to rest, eat, and shower They took such good care of us so we could focus on taking care of Taelynn and Trinity. Our family will never be able to thank them enough!
We spent Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years at the House I thought it would be hard to spend the holidays away from home, but Ronald McDonald House created some of our most magical memories. Our favorite is when Taelynn and Trinity met Santa Claus and his elves (RMHCK staff) for the first time. Their willingness to go above and beyond for the families staying at the House meant the world to us.
Ronald McDonald House is such a special place for families in need, and it’s seriously one of the best organizations we ’ ve ever seen. We will be forever grateful to supporters like you! Your donations truly make a positive impact on the lives of the families who call the Ronald McDonald House home

Lend A Hand
Every day, we continue to help children through their treatment and give families a comfortable place to stay during a difficult time But we can’t do it without you. Volunteers are the heart and soul of everything we do They are a fantastic group of caring, gifted people who bring a diverse range of talents to RMHC of Kentuckiana.
House Volunteers and Family Room Volunteers
We are always looking for new volunteers who have a passion for our mission and the flexibility to help with a variety of tasks to keep things running smoothly. Our volunteers directly and immediately impact children and families in their moment of greatest need. Volunteers are the extension of our staff and annually provide more than 5,200 hours of people power
Prepare a Meal
Our chef-led experience gives you the opportunity to cook a meal in our commercial kitchen with a professional chef, with the added bonus of helping families in need. To participate, groups give a gift of $300 to support our meal program. Our chef will lead your group in prepping and cooking a delicious dinner to serve families staying at RMHCK Help season our kitchen with love and sign-up by visiting rmhck org/meals-from-the-heart
