The murder trial of Marissa DeVault resumes in Maricopa County Superior Court. DeVault is accused of killing her husband with a hammer. The case has garnered national attention.

TEMPLE TOURS The new Gilbert Temple of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latterday Saints is open for tours. At 85,000 square feet, the Gilbert Temple is the largest the church has constructed in 17 years. The five-level temple is 82½ feet tall with a spire reaching 195 feet, making it the tallest building in Gilbert and among the tallest in the Southeast Valley. Once it is dedicated in March, only members of the Mormon faith will be permitted inside. DETAILS: gilbert.azcentral.com.

DEMOLITION APS plans to begin seeking permits for the demolition of its Ocotillo Power Plant in Tempe. The utility plans to spend $600 to $700 million to replace the half-century-old natural-gas plant with more powerful, compact and efficient generators. The company hopes to complete the project in 2018.

D-BACKS CLUBHOUSE Tour the clubhouse, hit in the batting cages, catch a fly ball on the field, pitch in the bullpen and take photos with players at the Subway D-Backs Fan Fest.
