h Protecting our youth Arizona is leading the way in concussion education programs and outreach. In 2011, the youth sports concussion safety law was signed by former Arizona Governor Jan Brewer. The key provisions include: y GUIDELINES/EDUCATION: Calls for school districts boards to develop concussion guidelines and educational programs y MANDATORY CONSENT: Requires youth athletes and a parent and/or guardian sign and return a concussion and head injury information sheet on a yearly basis y IMMEDIATE REMOVAL IF CONCUSSION SUSPECTED.
