ADVERTISEMENT problem in the first place. Once you have an injury the tendency is for it to fester. The best way to deal with that is to take care of it thoroughly and as soon as possible. Once something becomes chronic meaning it’s there for weeks and months, it becomes an actual progressive disease. It tends to start causing more trouble and more issues and becomes more extensive.

And even if it doesn’t hurt more, the condition itself can become more rooted and more significant and more lifestyle altering. Because chronic pain tends to be progressive and because of the fact that we want to try to get the best results possible and minimize troubles in the future, it’s always best to get it treated and to treat it in a way that’s going after the condition and causes, not just the symptoms.

A: We focus on treating chronic pain in patients who have tried many other treatments and didn’t get the results they were looking for. We have had success when most of these other treatments have failed. If we take the case there is a good opportunity you are going to get results. Our focus is on treating the problem, the thing that we find is causing your pain instead of only going after the pain which has not been very successful.

The way we do that is to spend some time with each individual patient to determine what exactly is causing the problem. We have a free consultation where a patient comes in and sits in a comfortable environment to talk with the doctor and go through the details of their condition. Once we understand what’s been done, what tissues are involved and determine the causes of their condition, we will recommend treatment geared toward treating those specific things.

Q: How long does it take before you see results?

A: For most of our chronic cases we don’t have a long-term treatment plan. the treatment recommendation can be done in as few as two times a week.

There’s got to be enough frequency and dosage but we give them a range of opportunities to come in and most people can accommodate.

Q: Is it ever too late to seek treatment?

it becomes detrimental to not do a surgery or something of that nature.

I can tell you that as long as there’s no absolute need to do some other treatment from a medical standpoint, we’ve taken very long-term chronic issues and been able to resolve those.

Q: WHAT’S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A POOL, SPA, SWIM SPA AND SPOOL? A: A pool is major construction in your backyard and can be built in many different sizes and shapes.

A spa is sometimes built as part of the pool and has a few therapy jets.

A swim spa is a fully self-contained product that is specifically designed for exercise, hydrotherapy, relaxation and fun. The heaters are electric and you can use it every day of the year at minimum cost. A pool would cost up to five times as much to heat during the winter months. A spool is a small pool built like a pool but with some therapy jets and maybe some swim-jets.

Q: IS A HOT TUB THE SAME THING AS A SPA? A: No. A hot tub is a self-contained product with multiple hydrotherapy jets positioned to provide specific types of massages in every seat. A hot tub is heated with electric and is cost-efficient and always ready to use.

Q: HOW MUCH SPACE IS REQUIRED FOR A SPOOL OR SWIM SPA VS A POOL OR SPA? A: Swim spas come in sizes starting at 12-feet by 8-feet so space requirement is minimal. It’s delivered and wired to electric and ready to use a few hours later. A spool can be built in small spaces but the expense can be high because of the labor.

Edward J. Robson:

An Arizona Icon One of the most respected and legendary names in Arizona real estate

d Robson grew up in the suburbs of Boston where he was a high school hockey star.

Continuing to stay active in hockey, he “went west” for college to Colorado College in Colorado Springs, Colorado, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business and Banking in 1954.

After graduation and marriage, Robson joined the United States Marines. In 1955, he was granted leave to play hockey for Team USA, and the next year, he was selected to become a member of the U.S. Olympic hockey team. Robson completed his final three years in the service with flight school and flying Marine helicopters in Hawaii.

with Ed Robson Q: DID YOU ALWAYS PLAN TO BE A HOMEBUILDER? A: No, but from the time I was nine years old or so, I planned to own my own business. I wasn’t sure what type of business, but I knew I wanted to be a business owner.

Q: HOW DID YOU GET INTO HOMEBUILDING? A: After working at Del Webb and seeing their success with Sun City, I formed my company in 1965 with th three partners. We set out to deliver a Sun City-type community with low prices and that’s how Sun lower La Lakes was born.

Real estate career In 1960, Robson began his real estate career with Coldwell Banker in Phoenix, and shortly thereafter, joined the fast-growing Del Webb Corporation (“I have tremendous respect for Del Webb,” he said.)

In 1972, he started his first Robson community — Sun Lakes — located in Sun Lakes, Arizona.

Today, Robson oversees active-adult communities in Arizona and Texas including PebbleCreek in Goodyear; Robson Ranch Arizona in the Casa Grande area; SaddleBrooke, The Preserve at SaddleBrooke and SaddleBrooke Ranch, all in and around Tucson; Quail Creek in southern Arizona in Green Valley; and Robson Ranch Texas in Denton, Texas.

Honors and awards A very small sampling of Robson’s numerous accolades includes: • Icon of the Industry, National Association of Home Builders 55+ Housing Council • Builder of the Year, National Association of Home Builders 55+ Housing Council • Hall of Fame, National Association of Home Builders • Grand Award, Home Builders Association of Central Arizona • Entrepreneur of the Year, Arizona State University His favorite award?

In 2008, the Ed Robson Family branch of the Boys and Girls Club of Metro Phoenix opened its doors, and in 2015 contributions were made to Boys Hope Girls Hope of Arizona.

Robson also contributed millions of dollars to his alma mater, Colorado College, for the future on-campus indoor hockey practice facility (the Ed Robson Arena), and to Arizona State University, as Founder for the new Sun Devil Football Stadium.

The bottom line When asked what keeps him going when he could easily kick back and enjoy the fruits of his decades of hard work, he said: “I love life and love what I’m doing. I’m 87 and hope I am still doing okay. Being part of the team and making things work — that’s what brings me to the office every day.”

Q: WHAT GUIDELINES DO YOU LIVE BY? A: Be fair. Treat everyone the same.

Family is important.

Q: IF YOU COULD BE ANYTHING BESIDES A HOMEBUILDER, WHAT WOULD IT BE? A: I’d be a fisherman and own my own charter boat somewhere in the Caribbean. I love fishing, it’s peaceful.
