HO IS A GOOD CANDIDATE FOR COSMETIC SURGER Just about anyone at any age could be a good candidate for cosmetic surgery, just as long as they don’t have medical conditions that impair healing, don’t smoke, and do have realistic expectations.

When you feel younger than you look, it may be time to consider a facelift. Compared to non-surgical options like injectables, a facelift provides more significant and visible results.

ust as a nutritious and balanced diet is good for your overall health and well being, it’s also essential to having glowing, radiant skin. That’s because foods get digested and broken down into vitamins, minerals and amino acids your body can use to build healthy skin.

Experts say the best diet for your skin is one filled with fresh fruits and vegetables, especially in a variety of colors. The darker and brighter the color, the more nutrients they have.

You are what you eat

When eating for healthy skin, the first thing to avoid is highly processed foods, which often lack the vitamins and minerals your skin needs. Also minimize dairy, foods high in sodium, and sugary foods.

Instead, focus on fresh, natural ingredients, like fresh fruits and vegetables—especially those that contain vitamin C, which is critical for new collagen synthesis. Interestingly, some experts recommend eating specifically red, yellow and green vegetables. For instance, red tomatoes are high in lycopene, which helps fight free radicals. Dark green vegetables like kale and spinach also fight free radicals that break down collagen over time.

For healthy sources of protein, opt for chicken, beans, eggs, and foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, such as salmon, sardines and tuna, as well as chia seeds, axseeds and walnuts. Also consider a protein powder to supplement your diet, as well as vitamin C and magnesium, which can help boost the immune system and decrease in ammation.

In addition, immune system cells, which assist in balancing the in ammatory response in the body, are primarily made up of proteins. Collagen is also a protein and is needed for proper scar and skin repair.
