THE WORLD’S GREATEST COLLECTOR CAR AUCTIONS™ RETURNS TO WESTWORLD OF SCOTTSDALE

H

ighlighted by the world-class collection of renowned car collector Ron Pratte, Barrett-Jackson, The World’s Greatest Collector Car Auctions™ will be held Jan. 10–18 at WestWorld of Scottsdale. Over the last decade, Pratte, a long-time front row Barrett-Jackson bidder, has played an integral part in some of the most extraordinary moments on the Barrett-Jackson auction block, purchasing some of

the world’s most coveted cars. With more than 140 cars out of his vast collection — as well as more than 1,400 pieces of automobilia — up for bid.

Destined to strut across the block Jan. 13 and Jan. 17, the star-studded grouping of Pratte cars includes Carroll Shelby’s personal vehicle — a 1966 Shelby Cobra Super Snake and a gorgeous 1954 Pontiac Bonneville Special Concept Car, one of only two ever built. Along with the Ron Pratte Collection, the docket of Barrett-Jackson’s 44th Annual Scottsdale Auction is guaranteed to wow buyers, sellers and automobile voyeurs alike with a stellar showcase of exceptional vehicles representing nearly a century of automotive history. The world-famous Salon Collection, an auction event that attracts top car aficionados and collectors will feature a host of amazing cars, including a 1927 Isotta Fraschini

LeBaron 8A S Dual Cowl phaeton, a 1937 Delahaye 135 M Roadster and a 1968 Chevrolet Corvette L88 Race Car specially created for the American International Racing (AIR) team, whose front man was the late actor James Garner. Whether bidding or just soaking up the incredible atmosphere, this epic event is not just for dealers and the megawealthy; indeed, families, first-time buyers and everyday auto enthusiasts all flock to the auction to experience the excitement generated by this high-wattage, ultra-highdollar event. In between checking out the cars, be sure to visit the Vendor Marketplace — THE place to be for shoppers, both window and otherwise — as well as for those whose passion runs to specialized and/or vintage collectibles. Here, sponsors and vendors offer a sensational array of products ranging from fashion-forward jewelry, clothing and art to custom vehicles and unique automotive aftermarket products. So whether you are primed to capture the car of your dreams, rub elbows with celebrities or experience auction action at its best, don’t miss this opportunity to be part of this spectacular celebration of automotive history. “This is going to create excitement beyond anything we’ve ever seen,” said Craig Jackson, chairman and CEO of Barrett-Jackson. “We have huge expectations for this auction.” For more information, visit www.Barrett-Jackson.com

BARRETT-JACKSON: GIVING BACK

T

alk about a carlover’s fantasy. Two legendary NASCAR names — Jeff Gordon and Ray Evernham — have teamed up to auction off the 1999 No. 24 Pepsi Chevrolet Monte Carlo used in their final season working together. This famed car — scheduled to cross the block at the Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale auction on January 1, an event that will be aired live on Discovery and Velocity — became part of NASCAR history when Gordon, a four-time NASCAR Cup Series champion, drove it to take the checkered flag at the inaugural Busch Series event at Phoenix International Raceway in 1999.

AUCTION TO RAISE FUNDS FOR A HOST OF CHARITIES Gordon and Evernham reunited to restore the Monte Carlo to its former glory to benefit the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation, one of Gordon’s primary philanthropic efforts that supports pediatric cancer research, treatment and patient support programs. Since its establishment in 1999, the Foundation has raised more than $14 million for children's health organizations. In 2011, the Jeff Gordon Children’s Foundation extended its efforts globally to bring pediatric cancer care to Rwanda, Africa. Evernham’s and Gordon’s restoration endeavors are also a highlight of an upcoming special episode of Velocity’s hit TV series “AmeriCarna.” As the host

of the “AmeriCarna” series, Evernham traverses the country in pursuit of showcasing America’s love affair with cars and shedding light on the profound impact automobiles have played in American culture. 1950 GM FUTURLINER SALE TO BENEFIT ARMED FORCES FOUNDATION

During this year’s auction, an iconic 1950 General Motors Futurliner — one of the stars of the Ron Pratte Collection — will be sold with 100 percent of the proceeds benefitting the Armed Forces Foundation (AFF). A Vietnam veteran having served with the U.S. Army’s celebrated 1st Air Cavalry Division, Pratte has developed a special bond with the AFF.

FROM LEFT: BARRETT-JACKSON CEO CRAIG JACKSON, VELOCITY GENERAL MANAGER ROBERT SCANLON, AND NASCAR LEGENDS RAY EVERNHAM AND JEFF GORDRON UNVEIL THE 1999 NO. 24 PEPSI CHEVROLET MONTE CARLO THAT WILL CROSS THE BLOCK FOR CHARITY AT THE 2015 SCOTTSDALE AUCTION.

The AFF is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization dedicated to supporting and advocating for active-duty military personnel, National Guardsmen, Reservists, military families and veterans. The AFF covers travel,

hotel rooms, home mortgages, car payments and daily expenses for families so they can stay at a loved one’s side during treatment and recovery from wounds suffered in war. One of only 12 built

and nine known to still exist, the Futurliner — a self-contained display and transport vehicle — was created by the GM design staff under the direction of legendary designer Harley Earl. This iconic piece of automotive history was the centerpiece of the “Parade of Progress” touring exhibit that complemented the GM “Motoramas” from 1940 through 1956. AFF and Barrett-Jackson have partnered for the last eight years, with AFF receiving more than $4 million through Barrett-Jackson auto auctions since 2008. To date, Barrett-Jackson has raised more than $67 million to support many of the country’s most incredible charities.

BUBBA WATSON

Automobilia is an amalgamation of “automobile memorabilia.” If you’re into retro-looking additions to your home or garage, look no further. Brightly flashing neon signs, beautifully restored pedal cars, rare vintage gas pumps, metal signs, and more—not all automotive-related, either. This year will see the auction of the Ron Pratte Automobilia Collection, 1,500 amazing pieces of history. The automobilia will be up for auction every morning of the event in the auction arena.

Even if you don’t know a Bugatti from a Buick, you are guaranteed to be impressed by the incredible vehicles crossing the block at the 44th Annual Barrett-Jackson Scottsdale Auction. The star of the show will be the unrivalled Ron Pratte Collection consisting of more than 140 pristine cars, trucks and motorcycles. The collection includes everything from Howard Hughes’ customized 1953 Buick Roadmaster and the Beverly Hillbillies jalopy to the brilliant blue 1966 Shelby Cobra 427 Super Snake and the remarkable 1950 General Motors Futurliner.
