t was 25 years in the making, and only made possible through a visionary partnership between Barrett-Jackson and the City of Scottsdale, for which the auction is sincerely grateful.

This all-new event site will be the largest indoor/outdoor auction facility in history.

Almost one mile from end to end.

750,884 square feet under roof. (The main tent structure that housed the auction arena during the 2013 Scottsdale auction was only 356,000 square feet.)

Nearly 1 million square feet when combining the new permanent building, ancillary pavilions and car display tents.

The measure of Barrett-Jackson’s sheer growth and evolution over the years can be visually chronicled with a look at the auction site itself. Since 1989 when Barrett-Jackson moved the auction to WestWorld of Scottsdale, there have been numerous celebrated efforts to modify and expand the event facilities with new, increasingly larger tents. Some of the modifications have been temporary, while others were more permanent.

Throughout the years, the City of Scottsdale and Barrett-Jackson understood each other’s needs for a first-class venue.

Today, Barrett-Jackson is sincerely thankful to the City of Scottsdale, Mayor Jim Lane, the City Council and its staff for its vision and partnership. The camaraderie is clear the moment you step into the new world-class facility.

The enchantment of these structures has become a part of the Barrett-Jackson legacy, and many staff members recall guests and fans sharing their amazement at the enormity of the auction’s tents. When Barrett-Jackson personally acquired its first enormous Clamshell (tent) structure from the Disney Company, people were in awe when it was erected in North Scottsdale with the McDowell Mountains as a backdrop.

At the time, this structure was believed to be a long-term solution, but within four years this tent was quickly outgrown

by Barrett-Jackson. So, another bigger Clamshell structure was put in place for the next three years. Currently on-site is an even larger tent, erected in 2006 and owned by the City of Scottsdale.

Originally it was covered with possibly the world’s largest canvas imprint of the American flag. It is large enough to comfortably house a jumbo jet and today

remains one of the largest clear-span tents in North America.

In response to public needs and the Scottsdale’s auction ever-increasing footprint, Barrett-Jackson worked ardently with the City of Scottsdale to devise a plan that would positively impact the community and allow for future growth and opportunity at WestWorld. Barrett-Jackson, the City of Scottsdale, the Arabian Horse Association and the Arizona Quarter Horse Association — all important stakeholders in ensuring the success of the facility — reached an agreement. The project was funded through Municipal Property Corporation (MPC) Bonds that will be paid from WestWorld’s operating revenue, portions of Scottsdale’s hotel-bed tax and private fund commitments from the auction company and both horse associations. Work on the new, permanent brick and mortar event building and ancillary foundations began in March 2013 and was completed in late 2013. With the new, permanent infrastructure in place, this monumental Barrett-Jackson event began set-up nearly 60 days prior to opening day, erecting the additional tents and other systems needed for the auction.

In fact, 18 cars and car-lover experiences will cross the Barrett-Jackson block in Scottsdale benefitting more than a dozen local and national charitable organizations. The philanthropic excitement kicks off at the Opening Gala, where guests will get a rare opportunity to bid on a Super Bowl package to benefit actor Billy Baldwin's charity honoring his mother. The winning bidder walks away with tickets to the 2015 big game, but the big winner will be the Carol M. Baldwin Breast Cancer Research Fund.

Barrett-Jackson week continues with cars for causes ranging from families of fallen soldiers to cancer research – the latter being a very personal passion for Craig Jackson who personally pledged $1 million to TGen Foundation's colon cancer research in honor

of his late father and brother. In addition, a 1979 Oldsmobile Cutlass Hurst Coupe (Lot #3005) that was first owned

by Linda Vaughn will cross the block at approximately 6 p.m, on Friday, Jan. 17 to benefit TGen. Crossing the block on Saturday, Jan. 18 at approximately 5 p.m., Bugatti is also raising the bar for Make-A-Wish, offering its extraordinary Bugatti Experi-

ence for the first time – ever – to benefit charity. The winner receives the ultimate driving experience, including a test drive in the ultimate car, the Bugatti Grand Sport Vitesse on the world-renowned Formula 1 Paul Ricard Circuit in Le Castellet, France.
