RLSS UK 2022 LIFEGUARD SURVEYS

Thank you to everyone who took part in our recent lifeguard surveys. We had 2,317 complete responses, including 1,990 NPLQ holders and 327 OWL/NVBLQ holders. Your feedback is hugely valuable in helping us understand what matters to you as lifeguards. Below is a summary of our key findings.

Leisure centres are key for NPLQ awareness...

45% heard about the NPLQ through their local leisure centre

60% of NPLQ holders were attracted by the potential to earn money from working as a lifeguard Most have already secured a paid role!

38% heard about the NPLQ through friends and family

89% have worked as a paid lifeguard since completing their NPLQ qualification

58% of OWL and NVBLQ holders were attracted to working outdoors
