NEXUS COMMONS

This project was my comprehensive studio final project. NEXUS COMMONS is a Residential Resource Center for at risk youth in Atlanta. The main user group for NEXUS COMMONS is youth ages 13-21, with the community being the secondary user group. The intention for this project is to instill dignity in the at risk youth at the center by providing life and business skills lessons to help them grow professionally and individually. NEXUS COMMONS aspires to cultivate these skills through teaching kitchens, community gardens, makerspace, and innovation business center.

LOOKING UP

This project projects objective was to focus on resilient strategies, in particular flood mitigation, for the target area and the impact a more ambitious flood mitigation approach would have on new development. We had to develop a graphical analogue and visualization of redevelopment potential for the Upper Peninsula District (UPD) in support of the City of Charleston’s Design Division (DD) preliminary urban strategy proposal for the district.

INTROSPECTION

Introspection is an educational outreach center located in Clemson, South Carolina that is committed to upholding the mission of the land grant university. Part of that mission is to provide the opportunity and facilities necessary to create innovative solutions to the problems that arise in an ever-changing world. Introspection will provide a facility that acts as a gateway to Clemson University and a new learning facility for the Clemson Botanical Gardens. The building was designed around an interior courtyard that will act as a collaborative space that also allows light into the building to provide a better learning and collaborative environment.

KEESE b ARN FACADE

The Keese Barn Facade is project being done by the city of Pendleton. The Historic Keese Barn was removed in 1999.

Clemson University constructed a structure in the 2000’s, which will be removed. This ne structure will be a facade that is similar to the historic architecture of the old barn, My involement with this project was editing the floor plan and the facade, and making renderings to send to the client.
