Engine Oil Function of engine oil is to maintain proper lubrication of various components present inside the car. As such, you need to check the engine oil level at regular intervals and ensure that right levels are maintained to prevent damage to your car's engine. When synthetic oils are used, the oil change should occur between 5,000-7,000 miles.

Coolant Vehicle overheating is prevented by the coolant or anti-freeze and prevents the engine from freezing in winter months. Ideally, the coolant should be serviced approximately every 2-3 years. The role of coolant is to prevent deposits and corrosion from forming. Even if the cooling system appears to be working, it would be necessary for you to check for freezing and boiling protection as well as acidity.
