I have an art school background, but did take classes on management in business school. I managed Riddles Jewelry in the mall in my area for 8 years, which was more of a corporate fine jewelry store model, but family owned. I did a brief stint as a legal assistant in a Criminal Law Firm for 18 months before working at Gem Gallery, which is an independent, free standing fine Jewelry store. The Gem Gallery brand is a better fit for my background, and I see myself here long term and growing with the store.

A good leader is someone who can acts in the best interests of the collective without trampling over the needs of each individual. The best leader, to me, is someone who can keep everything moving smoothly without anyone feeling like they're being compelled to act against their own will. Above all else a leader has to have a clear vision of the future, they have to have an idea of the world as it should be, and they should be able to see the steps to achieve that vision.
