I.

A wonderful serenity has taken possession of my entire soul, like these sweet mornings of spring which I enjoy with my whole heart. I am alone, and feel the charm of existence in this spot, which was created for the bliss of souls like mine. I am so happy, my dear friend, so absorbed in the exquisite sense of mere tranquil existence, that I neglect my talents.

I hate the red carpet commotion.

Nobody takes a chance. Corporate beauty is cheap and available to everybody. But you do not have to weigh 112 pounds, have fake tits, or wear a Herve Ledger dress. You have to create your own standard of beauty.

It has to be a way of life, not a little quirk: beauty has got to be everything.

I believe in the ritualistic and energetic values of tattoos. If someone doesn’t have some sort of connection to their tattoos, then it’s just a weird blob on their skin. And I don’t want to be responsible for that. I see tattoos as memories.

It’s not about something you’re going to like forever. It’s like a recording of a memory at a certain point in time.

The idea of a uniform that I love is you don’t have to think about what you put on.

I’m very into the dandy thing, Josephine Baker did it, Frida Kahlo did it... for women, it’s the freedom to be able to be comfortable and still look dressed up.
