The radioactive material that are used to find out the diseases by using Gamma rays are called Radioactive Tracer or Radioactive Pharmaceutical. This material consist of two things, A chemical molecule which determines the radioactive tracer in the body. An emission called Gamma rays which helps to view the specific body parts.

Gamma Camera
The Gamma camera is used to view the body parts where the Gamma rays emitted from radioactive pharmaceutical. The camera detects the radioactive emissions and converted it into images.

The patient will inhale, swallow or inject the radioactive tracer. After this, the patient will suggested to lie on the bed and the radioactive material passes through the body. The camera will take the images of the specific body part with the help of radioactive emission.
