WHAT IS KIDNEY? Kidneys are a pair of fist-sized organs located near the middle of the back, just below the rib cage.

Kidneys are made up of millions of tiny functioning units called Nephrons.

Kidneys are essential for having healthy body.

They are mainly responsible for filtering blood by removing wastes, excess water, and other impure materials in the blood.

This filtered waste materials and water comes out as urine from the body.

The kidneys also helps to maintain pH, salt, and potassium levels in the body. They produce hormones that regulate blood pressure and control the production of red blood cells. The kidneys are also responsible to produce a form of vitamin D that helps the body absorb calcium.

WHAT IS KIDNEY DISEASE? The Kidney diseases are occurs when the Kidney do not functions properly. Most Kidney diseases affects Nephrons. The damage of Kidneys resulting in the accumulation of waste materials & water inside the body. You have a higher risk of Kidney disease if you have diabetes, high blood pressure, and other chronic disorders.

Types of Kidney Diseases

CHRONIC KIDNEY DISEASE Chronic Kidney Disease(CKD) is the most common Kidney diseases mainly caused by high blood pressure. CKD will not cure so fast. High blood pressure increases the pressure on the Glomeruli (the tiny blood vessels in the Kidney) & it damages these vessels and kidney stops functioning.

Diabetes may also causes CKD. The increased amount of sugar damages the small blood vessels in the Kidney. As a result the Kidneys cannot remove the waste materials and it destroys Kidneys.

KIDNEY STONES Kidney stones are another most common Kidney disorders in human. It happens when minerals and other substances in the blood crystallize in the kidneys, forming solid masses (stones). Kidney stones usually come out of the body during urination.

Passing kidney stones can be extremely painful.

GLOMERULONEPHRITIS Glomerulonephritis is an inflammation of the glomeruli.

It can be caused by infections, drugs, or congenital abnormalities (disorders that occur during or shortly after birth).

POLYCYSTIC KIDNEY DISEASE Polycystic kidney disease is a genetic disorder that causes number of cysts (small sacs of fluid) to grow in the kidneys. These cysts prevents kidney function and cause kidney failure.

Urinary tract infections Urinary tract infections (UTIs) are bacterial infections occurs on the urinary system. Most commonly causes infections in the bladder and urethra. They are easily treatable and rarely lead to more health problems. However, if left untreated, these infections can spread to the kidneys and cause kidney failure.
