raduation is a special time to be celebrated. Although many of the traditional graduation events may not occur, I am pleased we are still able to celebrate with you. It seems like ages ago when I introduced you at our first assembly in
September as the “Graduation Class of 2020.” Who would have known what the year would bring? As a staff, we have truly missed you and enjoyed the phone calls and checkins during this time. It wasn’t until we lost our ability to come together at CHS that we realized how much we value our times together. Even though you were not able to perform your final play, I saw you gaining confidence with a relaxed attitude enjoying performances without stress or worry. I am so happy that one of CHS’s favourite sports, basketball, was able to see a full season. The cafeteria won’t be the same without the “Grade 12 group” who gathered daily. Talent shows with “3 AM,” and Mr. Tompkins will always be remembered. COVID-19 taught me to appreciate our freedom and our times together.
I have known most of you for 13 years, and I look forward to seeing each of you at the graduation celebrations. This week, our yearbook arrived and looking through the pages, I see a group of amazing young people with many talents. You are now young adults. I hope each of you realizes, regardless of your plans or COVID-19, that you have many opportunities. Set goals and dreams, reach out, ask for advice, and accept support when you need it. When I think back on past graduates at CHS and their achievements, I am impressed. I know you will be a part of that list, too!

ongratulations! Graduation is a huge milestone, and you should be extremely proud of yourselves. It’s a special graduation year for me as my daughter is graduating with you. I am truly amazed at the growth you have demonstrated, and I
am thankful for knowing each of you. We are all saddened by the way this school year has ended. The relationships you have built inside the NHS walls, playing sports with the Nighthawk on your chest, performing at Drama Fest, playing in the school band, participating in clubs, or hanging out with friends in the cafeteria or art room created memories that will last a lifetime. While you missed out on a few of these memories, you’ve learned valuable lessons and skills. You have shown adaptability in managing new platforms for learning, demonstrated resilience, and maintained positive attitudes. You have become champions for social justice in recent weeks, finding your voice in the
