The critically acclaimed production of The Very Hungry Caterpillar Show created by Jonathan Rockefeller features a menagerie of 75 lovable puppets.
The production faithfully adapts four stories by author/illustrator Eric Carle: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, 10 Little Rubber Ducks, The Very Lonely Firefly and of course, the star of the show – The Very Hungry Caterpillar. The Very Hungry Caterpillar has delighted generations of readers since it was first published in 1969 selling more than 48 million copies worldwide. Brown Bear, Brown Bear - now celebrating 50 years - has sold more than 18.2 million copies.
Following extended runs in the UK, Australia and New Zealand, this “colorful, engaging and charming” production (Huffington Post) returns to New York City every year, with its most recent 8month run being its biggest yet.
ERIC CARLE is the acclaimed and beloved as the creator of brilliantly illustrated and innovatively designed picture books for very young children. His best-known work, “The Very Hungry Caterpillar” has nibbled its way into the hearts of literally millions of children all over the world and has been translated into 62 languages and sold over 41 million copies. Since the Caterpillar was published in 1969, Eric Carle has illustrated more than seventy books, many best sellers, most of which he also wrote, and more than 132 million copies of his books have sold around the world.
JONATHAN ROCKEFELLER is the co-founder of Rockefeller Productions, a company that combines film, theatre, animation, puppetry and television.
