At RIVA, not only do we source from the highest-quality and most exclusive raw materials but also care about the environment. Our renowned hardwood floors include a 100% European oak top layer. Contrary to popular belief this is an overpopulated species, and it is a great option for wood flooring installations due to its high durability.
Beyond simply utilizing sustainable materials, we plant three trees for each one felled in order to reduce our footprint and honor our planet for its provisions.
RIVA has conscientiously harvested these resources for generations even as our team continuously researches and develops innovative and quality high-end luxury products.

OUR PROCESS
What sets RIVA apart? Decades of tradition and knowledge passed from one generation to another, continuous innovation, improvement and next level flooring solutions.
A MASTERPIECE OF WOODEN ENGINEERING
Our engineered hardwood floors feature two layers: our signature 100% European oak top layer, and several layers of birch plywood. To combine these layers, we use the highest quality glue in the market: 100 percent formaldehyde-free D4 adhesive, offering unparalleled resistance to moisture and structural integrity. Next comes a water-based stain. The wood is then passed through an oven that evaporates any extra moisture and produces a vivid dye. Finally, we apply six layers of UV-matt lacquer to guarantee maximum resistance. All finishing products are supplied by Bona®.
At RIVA, we have a diverse and carefully selected staff on hand in all our departments. We are proud to count many highly efficient, detail-oriented women as heads of our essential quality control areas to deliver the utmost quality.
The production line of our factory in Vigo, Spain, has been designed front-to-back to meet the highest quality control standards. NWFA. We are proud members of the National Wood Flooring Association, an international not-for-profit trade association representing all segments of the hardwood flooring industry.
Forest Stewardship Council. It means that the wood or paper product comes from a forest that was managed carefully with trees, animals, and local community benefit at heart.
DAP CONS. Method of quantifying the environmental impact of the manufacturing processes of construction products.
IQ NET Quality System. Our products follow the requirements of the standards ISO 9001:2015.
Lacey Act. The Lacey Act passed in 1900 was the first federal law to protect wildlife. It enforces civil and criminal penalties for the illegal trade of animals and plants.
Carb phase 2 compliant. Being CARB compliant means we follow California’s standards for air quality and contaminants. The product does not pose any health hazards. California has among the strictest laws in the United States regarding hazardous and air quality in consumer products.
TSCA. The Toxic Substances Control Act of 1976 (TSCA) is a federal regulation that allows the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) to comprehensively manage chemicals in U.S. commerce.
IQ Net Management System. Our products follow the requirements of the standards ISO 14001:2015
Interior emissions. Regulation to inform consumers in complete transparency about the level of volatile pollutant emissions from a construction or decoration product. A+ means there is little or no emission at all.
VOC free. No volatile organic compounds. This means the products are considered safe to use indoors.

MOSS
WHAT IS PRESERVED MOSS?
Preserved moss is real moss that has been organically engineered to be able to maintain its vibrant colors and natural characteristics. All of our moss is sustainably harvested from different forests spanning across Europe. Once the moss has been harvested it undergoes the preservation process which is achieved by soaking the moss in a glycerine solution over several days.
During this time, the glycerin penetrates the cells of the moss replacing the water and effectively preserving its softness and flexibility. The resulting product is a beautiful natural material that can be used for an endless possibilities of designs.
