Throughout my internship, design team provided me with clear direction and expectations, and was always available to answer my questions and provide valuable feedback. Their expertise and guidance helped me to understand the inner workings of the architectural firm and allowed me to make the most of my internship.

• The Jawaharlal Nehru Port Authority (JNPA) at Navi Mumbai is the premier container handling port in India, accounting for around 50% of the total containerized cargo volume, across the major ports of India. Commissioned on 26 th May 1989, in three decades of its operations, JNPA has transformed from a bulkcargo terminal to become the premier container port in the country. JNPA is connected to over 200 ports in the world and is ranked 26th in the list of top 100 Container Ports globally.
• JNPA is awarded the Special Planning Authority (SPA)GoM as per SEZ Act provisions.
JNPA SEZ -
• Total Area - 277.38 Ha
• SEZ is a demarcated area of land tha provides impetus to manufacturing and services, with the primary objective of boosting exports.
• Duty free enclave deemed to be a foreign territory for the purpose of trade operations, duties and tariffs.
• Units set up in SEZs, enjoy key fiscal incentives / tax concessions.

ABOUT PROJECT
• JNPA is making passenger ferry terminal building with waiting area, cafeteria, washrooms, VIP Lounge and viewing decks at Landing Jetty
• The proposal is to design building to mark entrance, for people to wait and enjoy view around and to benefit commercial activity and attract people.
• It also contains development of site around the building with Pedestrian Plaza, Shaded Parking, Landscape Island, outdoor waiting area.
SCOPE OF WORK
• Necessary changes in design according to site conditions after site visit
• design of landscape island, pedestrian plaza and overall site development
• preparation of Architectural drawing set with all necessary details and material specifications
• Adjustment in plinth according to difference in site levels
• External wall treatment for durability
• site development for welcoming experience
• As it's entry to JNPA area the idea was to reflect ethos of JNPA with roof design as image of a ship.
• Creating double height waiting area, cafeteria, outdoor seating area, pedestrian plaza and viewing decks at different levels for people to wait and enjoy between ship’s long waiting time
• Required amount of bus, car & two wheeler shaded parking with maneuvering space

• JNPA is providing infrastructure and facilities within SEZ
• A plot is identified to develop Mix use building comprising of shops, hotel and office spaces
• two options are proposed as new amenity building and adaptive reuse of existing training center into an amenity building
SCOPE OF WORK
• Preparing Schematic floor plans catering to the brief with maximum use of FSI.
• Design building elevation and developing 3d model
• training center site visit and proposing modification for its adaptive reuse

JNPA SEZ road infrastructure has street light poles and Ring Main Units (RMUs) installed in all sectors. Currently the numbering for above elements is not standardized. As part of standardization number plate design is prepared.
