TRADITIONAL SURROGACY

termed as IUI, or intrauterine insemination. Under this process, the sperm from the biological father is placed inside the uterus of the surrogate to facilitate natural fertilization.

GESTATIONAL SURROGACY

created using the biological mother’s egg as well as the biological father’s sperm. The medical method involved in gestational surrogacy is termed as IVF.

THREE STAGES OF GESTATIONAL SURROGACY

1. Egg Donation • Here, an egg retrieval process is done on the egg donor or the intended mother.

2. Fertilization • In the second stage, fertilization occurs when semen is placed with the egg in the laboratory.

3. Transfer • Once the embryo is fertilized, it is then moved inside the womb of the surrogate mother. This stage is also termed as the embryo transfer stage.

• The health of the biological mother
