architectureanddesign This portfolio of works goes beyond the demonstration of concrete proof of skills and learning. It provides a gateway for creative selfexpression, inspired from colors, lines, proportion, texture, fashion, human interaction and travel. How all of these factors are interweaved into concrete 3d remain a sheer intuition by the designer which cannot be explained by a mathematical formula but can only be expressed through physical art and that is through the edifice and space.

scope of work

Paramount to the family’s belief of the Feng Shui principle, the actual tomb chamber location, as established by the Feng Shui expert, became the starting point in developing the shell and core design of the mausoleum. After the shell and core design progressed, it was then that the exterior detailing was developed. With the client’s penchant for modern architecture and clean lines, Japanese i fl influenced d elements l were incorporated i d into the structure, as seen in the horizontal slated stone, elevation lines, Zen garden and concealed lighting all adding the overall feel of lightness, airiness and serenity.

Facade Being constantly exposed in a tropical humid climate, the canopy structure uses stainless steel components and clear twin-walled polycarbonate. Other materials utilized were g granite,, natural slate and in-situ concrete. The bone chamber tower,, located at the lot’s rear corner, becomes a tri-tier sculptural piece comprising of granite triangular cladding, in-situ concrete and the hidden lighting located on top. rissa kintanar –architecture and design portfolio

Nestled atop the verdant Pardo hills, this 600 sq.m. residence, located in a cul-de-sac lot, offers a magnificent vista of the city, neighboring islands and the bay. With this ideal location, the architect planned the rooms to take gain benefit of the breathtaking panorama. The structure is comprised of 3 levels, the undercroft, ground and second level. These include the living room, dining room, kitchen, pantry, 5 bedrooms, entertainment room, family room, and service area containing servant’s quarters & laundry area. All bedrooms on the second level have balconies for “stargazing”. . The residence incorporates “green” systems such as the provision of solar panel on the roof used to provide heated water to the showers. A 100 cu.m cistern, found underneath the living room, gathers and filters rain water from the roof. Water is then treated and distributed as water supply for plumbing fixtures, gardening and other uses.

The client, being musicians, wanted a modern but abstracted neoclassical theme. theme Geometric forms come into play in the shape of circles and curves at the façade, but at the same time hints of conventionality appear through the hip-gable roof, its fascia following the perimeter of the façade. To give the exterior volume and depth, synthetic stone slate was applied at the undercroft level, to serve as a base for light textured finish above it. The sloping site added to the dynamic encounter as one explored around the house , with a landscaped p garden complementing g p g the structure.

Situated along one side, this allowed more open space, giving an “airy” airy feel from a passer-by passer-by’ss vision . As per the local building code, a firewall was required for structures directly adjacent to the property line. The service area is concealed in such a way that it does not allow public viewing.

The interior layout of the main structure comprises an open-type open type space, space as the owners wanted an active area that could breathe. The clients wanted a unique vernacular vernacular, with hints of conventionality, as seen in the sloped roof. The overall architectural impact from a passer-by’s viewpoint would be a sense of lightness and serenity, as substantiated by the horizontal lines commonly present in Japanese architecture architecture.

In a culture where safety and security of the home is a primary concern, it is rare to find a residence without fences. The low fence height , giving a feeling of security, still allows the casual observer to take a glimpse into the façade.

Aptly situated in Dubai Marina, the restaurant interior contains seafaring elements to make seafood lovers more authentic. The fish counter lets you reminisce of rope-woven sea chests. Inspired from the old wooden ship hull, the cashier counter and the family booth design adds up to complement the overall theme. Wooden trellis, sloped ceilings reminiscent of sails, air vents similar to portholes, and stretched fabric reminds you of old ships, sail and sea.

Cozy, rustic , rural. These are just few adjectives that we aim to describe the concept behind this proposed Mom’s food restaurant. And to make the guests feel as if they were in their own home, we introduced elements to make this experience more authentic. These include the bakery area simulating a Dutch windmill, the 3 counters introducing wood-stamped concrete to inject and element of rusticity.

One of the last choice picks ((Scheme 8)) for detail design development was using dark grey slate finish with accents of Rosso Red, similar to the red panel used at the façade.

One of the lighting schemes developed was proposing a red vertical beam through the funnel roof. . Because the structure fell directly under the flight path, this option was replaced with another scheme.

The original concept of the ceiling cladding was a metal scoop ceiling that would conceal the spaceframe beams running across the shield. Due g g, the metal to value engineering, scoop option was scrapped and replaced with a stretched ceiling proposal. Old lighting scheme and ceiling studies
