about me
I am a passionate student, soon to be graduating with a Bachelor’s in Architecture. Studying architecture has broadend my perspective on design, I am particularly interested in contextually driven architecture which responds to people. I found that people and the activities they perform is what makes architecture interesting. An adaptive reuse project I did in year 3, where we had to repurpose a building that lied at a road junction, due to this context, the building became secluded as people avoided walking on that part of the street, in finding the solution to the problem I was pushed into understanding the value of people in architecture and the value context has to people.
Outside of architecture I enjoy photography and travelling which help me to sharpen my eye for architecture and allows me to see things though a different perspective. I am excited to contribute, learn and grow in a collaborative design environment through an internship experience.

the proposal is of a commons building in the city of derry, the proposed site is near the hub of social activity, beside the guildhall, near the waterfront with a street running along it, on either side of the site there is a monument park and a bus station
given the number of contexts to respond to the proposal focuses on the most immediate contexts, the monument park, the bus station and the street.

sculpture gallery, shaftesbury square, belfast
the project involves the reuse of the abandoned ulster bank building located in shaftesbury square. the building’s position at a road junction negatively impacts the walkability of the surrounding area.
the proposal includes a tall sculpture and painting gallery on the top floor and three studio spaces situated on the basement, ground, and first floors.
the west end of the proposal is sectioned inwards, creating a relaxed and shaded space which draws people in, allowing them to see the artists at work. this shade spans across the length of the west side, leading the pedestrians onto the entrance of the building.
the project introduces two key spatial moments by utilizing the existing structure.
the building incorporates reused concrete obtained from reprocessing the material from the demolished third floor.

the gallery demolishes the third floor of the existing building to provide height for the immense and tall sculptures to be exhibited, at the end of the gallery there is a glass facade where the final sculptures are displayed. the gallery subtracts a part of an existing structure on the roof to create a skylight at the end, which incidences light on the sculpture; creating a dramatic effect
the sculpture workshop connects the ground-floor studio with the basement, enabling artists to create immense and tall sculptures. this connection to the ground floor offers pedestrians an opportunity to watch the sculptors at work
