TERM 2 HIGHLIGHTS

EXCELLENCE.

Term 2 showcased the depth of talent we have at Raha across both individual and team sports

In a first for Raha, we sent an athletics team to Dubai to compete in the Taaleem Cup Athletics event Raha GC finished an impressive 4th overall, with a number of students reaching the podium and setting a fantastic benchmark for future participation.

We also had a strong presence at the ADEK Cup Cycling event, where we were the most represented school - an excellent reflection of both participation and commitment

This was mirrored at the Yas Triathlon, where we partnered with our friends at KCC to compete under the wider Raha and Taaleem umbrella It is always a standout event in the calendar, made even more special this year with over 90 students taking part It was fantastic to see the results of months of training and dedication on display.

A big thank you, as always, to Ms Debbie, Ms Melanie, and Ms Teejay for their continued commitment to developing our squads

Our U11 girls football team also had the opportunity to participate in the GLAD Games, competing against schools from around the world The team delivered an outstanding performance and were crowned champions - an

RELATIONSHIPS.

Connection continues to underpin everything we do, strengthening the relationships between students, staff, and families This term has once again shown the strength of our community and the shared pride we take in the programme It has been particularly pleasing to see just how popular Fitness Friday has become, with so many members of our community getting involved. A sincere thank you to our parents for their continued support and willingness to take part alongside the students

That same sense of community was evident during the Colour Run We are very grateful to our parent volunteers for their support, and to our teaching team, whose energy and involvement helped make the day such a success It was also great to see our Secondary students and staff fully engaged in their Sports Extravaganza, further strengthening the connection across the Senior School and OSRAH groups. A big thank you to Ms. Louise, Mr. Ben Davies, and the PE team for the organisation behind both events

This collective spirit continued during the Torch Run, where, as a community, we kept the ‘torch’ moving continuously for four hours, covering an impressive 54 km A special mention must go to Ms Carol, who both started and finished the runa brilliant reflection of the commitment within the Raha community

As always, it was fantastic to see our senior triathlete students supporting GOALS Inclusion at the Yas Triathlon This partnership is something we value highly and continues to be a real highlight of the overall event. It has also been great to see more CAS students stepping into coaching and mentoring roles within our younger squads Their leadership and encouragement are making a real difference, helping to build confidence and inspire our junior athletes

As we look ahead to Term 3, our focus remains on building on the strong foundations established so far this year. While we are currently navigating a period of global uncertainty, the safety and wellbeing of our students, staff, and wider community will always remain our top priority.

As soon as circumstances allow, we are ready to reintroduce organised sporting opportunities for Raha students. We know how important these experiences are in supporting not only performance, but also the continued growth of attitude, effort, and character across our student body.

We remain fully committed to finishing the year strongly. By maintaining a positive approach and a shared sense of purpose, we are confident that our students will continue to grow, represent Raha with pride, and strengthen the values that sit at the heart of our sporting programme.
