You grew up on a farm in Morrinsville, what did you love most about growing up on the farm, and how do you think that upbringing has influenced the way you approach your life and business today? I grew up in Morrinsville and lived there until I was about ten or eleven. My dad worked for MAF as a livestock officer, and we did a lot of sharemilking when I was young, so I have so many fond memories of that time, waking up at 4:30 in the morning, going out to get the cows in, and spending time on the farm with him. I absolutely loved it. There’s something so special about those simple moments, being outdoors, surrounded by animals, the land, and that slower pace of life. Growing up in that environment really instilled a deep sense of humility, hard work, kindness, and appreciation for nature. It taught me that nothing is beneath you, that you roll up your sleeves, give things a go, and stay tenacious. Those values have stayed with me throughout my life and have been critical to everything I’ve achieved today, as a businesswoman, and now as a mother too. I was definitely a bit of a tomboy growing up, we all were! Really sporty, never wore makeup or thought about skincare. My grandparents also owned farms, so that lifestyle has always been part of our family. Looking back, I’m really grateful for that upbringing; it kept me grounded and taught me what truly matters. I wish more young girls today could experience that same kind of simplicity.
