SAUNG SRAWUNG community Space building applies a modern tropical concept with a sustainability design The square shape of thhe building, vegetation, and the dominant selection of wood materials reinforce the modern tropical impression. The facade of the building is made of re-used wood which is arranged spaced in random oblique positions and has different sixes to minimize incoming heat and rain showers. in saving energy, in the morning and afternoon the building maximizes sunlight for lighting its space. then, on the 2nd floor there are voids and a facade lattice that maximizes natural ventilation This Community Space has a multipurpose function with the facilities of a Saung Srawung room, sports room, reading and study room as well as a play room. it is hoped that the local Community will not onlu carry out public activitties but can improve their quality by exercising, studying, and playing.

The Site is located at Jl. KP. Jogoyudan No.549E, RT 31/RW 07, Gowongan, Kec. Jetis, Kota Yogyakarta. Daerah Istimewa Yogyakarta. It is an open public space in the neighbothood area which is often used as an assembly point for Jogoyudan's villagers. The site is near Yogyakarta's Downtown and is vrammed with informal settlements near Code River
