Dear Reader,

Letter from the Editor in Chief

Thank you so much for picking up the first ever issue of The Shield. We hope you enjoy reading through the first ever multimedia magazine of Archbishop Riordan. Our team has worked hard to make sure everything is up to standards. It has been a long few months of planning, learning, and of course connecting with each other.

I remember ever since I was young, flipping through fashion and editorial magazines was my favorite past-time. Reading the interviews and stories from others, and admiring the multicolored pages of people, items, and places, it took me on an adventure through its pages. Now seeing that I’ ve made something similar of my own is truly such a gratifying experience.

We hope to establish something new and unique that all of you will be proud of as much as we are. I am so glad we are able to feature new people, stories, and memories that all of us can relate to on some level. Hopefully, as you flip through the pages, the stories come alive, and each page shows a different aspect of our community.

Every issue will have a different theme, and different stories to tell. We want to be able to represent everyone in a different way. The magazine is a way to express our creativity on a deeper level, including collaboration with other Riordan entities.

As you flip through the pages, I hope you can explore the stories on a deeper level, finding mutuality with others and watching the videos our editors have worked hard on.

It has been surreal working on this project from when it was just an idea, to now when it finally has launched.

I hope you enjoy our work as much as we did working on it.
