In the fall of 2019, Ringling’s Business of Art and Design Department partnered with Lucas Spivey, founder of Culture Hustlers and the Mobile Incubator, to transform the Willis Smith Gallery into a visual showcase of the entrepreneurial journey. Every leading business school uses the case study format, but the Business of Art and Design Department does things a little differently. Artists Minding Their Business was an interactive multimedia exhibition and event series that illustrated the journey from making art to making a living, from being creative to being a leader. Each mixed-media case study included wall text, video and mini-docs, podcasts, and interactive displays visualizing the unique startup story of eight creative entrepreneurs. This project was produced by Emily Fritz and Juliana Reolon Pereira.
