About Sandra Workman

Sandra Workman lives with her husband Randy and their beautiful daughter Kaylee, in Draper, Utah where she and Randy operate their design company Pine Mountain Designs and oversee their quilt store, Pine Needles at Gardner Village in West Jordan, Utah.

Sandra began her love of creative arts as a young child following in the footsteps of her talented mother and has continued to develop her talents under the encouraging influence of her husband Randy. Sandra’s designs include an extensive line of cross-stitch kits, embroidery designs, quilt patterns and now her second fabric line, Dream and a Wish.

Sandra has one criteria for design and that is it needs to make her feel happy. Her subject choice and color selections are sunny and sweet. Sandra believes that each of us has an innate need to create, and whether it is with paper, fabric or food, creating feeds the soul and brightens the world around us.

This is a seam guide that temporarily adheres to the bed of any sewing machine. Made sturdy with see through plastic for easy placement.

Lori designed her Seams Sew Easy for use as an accurate ¼” seam and especially for use when constructing her blocks which use the easy corner triangle method. This saves time by not having to mark lines on your fabric when sewing half square triangles, flying geese or snow balls too! The center circle of the guide is also marked with ½” grid lines for other sewing such as hemming or wider seam allowances. These grid lines also help to ensure correct placement when adhering to your sewing machine bed.

The ¼” bias maker is used to make your own bias tape for the stems of the flowers.

1. Needle-Align needle with center of dot.

2. Cut and Save-Cut plastic out by starting in the cut out circle and cut on dotted line. Save cut-out for future reference.

Pattern Designer Spotlight quilt. Grandmother had templates and I used scissors to cut the fabric. I loved to work with my hands. She also taught me to knit.

As a teenager I would spend my summers in Jackson, Wyo. My aunt also loved to quilt and We tied a few quilts during that time.

As a young mother I learned to make clothes for my small children. We were in the military, it was hard to find church clothes. So I learned to make them for my daughter and son.

As the children grew they were involved in clogging and I started to sew costumes for them.

Later I had a consignment shop in Spanish Fork, Utah. I made floral arrangements and we sold Gifts and candles. I then closed that and open my quilt shop in 2005. It was a lot of fun and I loved working with the people.

About Machelle Preston of Cherry Tree Cottage My name is Machelle Preston; I was born in Mapleton, Utah. I am the oldest of four children. I was raised on a cherry farm. At a young age I learned to work and drive a tractor. I grew up picking fruit and working in the orchards.

With the down turn of the economy I closed the shop in 2010. I now teach at American Leadership Academy, and work at Broadbent’s part-time.

My latest adventures have been designing. I have done patterns for a quilt shop in Pennsylvania and Riley Blake Fabrics. I will be doing some new patterns for market this fall.
