About Design by Dani My name is Dani and I am a thirty-year-old work-at-home mother of two feisty red heads, an eight year old and a very mischievous two-year-old. They are my absolute joy and my inspiration. We call the Pacific Northwest our home. I have always loved graphic design and have worked with Photoshop and Illustrator for over ten years. I worked in the pre-press department of an on demand printing press before I had my first daughter. After she was born, I was a stay-at-home mom, and I loved it, but I really missed the creative outlet and challenge in my life.I started dabbling in designing in the summer of 2005 and I have only grown in my love and passion for it.

The somber, mourning colors in the years 1880-1910 may have been attributed to the colors worn by two major figures. Queen Victoria mourning the death of her husband Albert and Empress Eugenie mourning the death of Napoleon III. It became fashionable to wear dark clothes during this period. The colors worn were typically black, gray, purple, and navy.

Size: 58½” x 58½” American Summer features Americana Designer Fabric by Carrie Quinn and is a 6-month block of the month program.

For five months, 2-3 blocks are made along with 16 flying geese for the finishing units. The sixth month is finishing, which includes sashing, setting triangles and assembly.

Size: 24”x 24” This miniature friendship quilt features 30’s Minis Designer Fabric by Erin Turner. This is a 6-month block of the month program. Each month we will have a supporting video showing the block construction. The last month will consist of the finishing instructions for the quilt.

About Tiffany Jenkins of Tiny Seamstress When I was in college, my dad gave me a sewing machine for Christmas one year. He said, “ Take a class and learn how to use it!” Needless to say, I graduated from BYU with a bachelors in English and a new pillowcase, sewn by me! Shortly after graduating, we began our little family.

My husband was away for 2 months in the Police Academy and I had a lot of free time on my hands. I didn’t dare buy real fabric for fear that I would mess up. So for about a year I would just cut up old jeans and design bags from them. Eventually I braved our local quilt shop and found a great passion for fabrics and design.

In 2009, I began writing patterns in an effort to save time and still make money. I don’t think it worked, because now I sew more than ever. In 2010 I made my way to Quilt Market with 8 bag patterns and by 2013, I had introduced quilts into the mix as well. I’ve taken my time in the industry, enjoying every minute from a publication in Quilts & More to designing for the McCall Pattern Company. I still have a million goals to meet, but between design and motherhood, 2015 is looking pretty good for Tiny Seamstress Designs.
