Background – 3 4” strips into 24 4” squares 4 3½” strips into 48 3½” squares
Draw a diagonal line across the back of all Background 4” squares. Place each right sides together with a 4” Star square. Stitch ¼” away from each side of drawn line. Cut on the line and press open. Trim squares to 3½”, 48 total. Make 12 star blocks using the triangle units and 3½” squares. Sew 18 strip sets of 4 random 2¾” strips. Cut each set into

Sew 6 charm squares together in a 2x3 grid.
Sew 3 2½”x 5” into a row, and sew to each side of the 2x3 grid. Make 4 blocks.
Sew the 4 blocks together into a row as shown.
Sew 2½”x 14” border strips to the sides of the runner.
Sew 2½”x 56½” border strips to the top and bottom.

Cut first cut strips across the width of fabric, about 22” - then sub-cut pieces

Sew
Draw a diagonal line across the back of all light squares. Place each right sides down on a dark square the same size. Stitch ¼” away from both sides of the line. Cut on the line, press open. Trim the smaller half square triangles to 4½”.
Trim the larger ones to 8½”.
Make 6 Block A and 6 Block B, each using 1- 8½” HST, 4- 4½” HST and 4- 4½”x 8½” lights.
