ICELANDERS UNDERSTAND YOU! MASTERCLASSES, PANELS and Q&As are part of RIFF’s program. The panels tackle a wide range of topics regarding international subject matters, ranging from wars and human rights abuses to global warming. Masterclasses are a unique opportunity to meet some of the world‘s leading directors and learn about their life and art. Q&A’s give cinema guests the opportunity to ask film directors about their work following a screening of their films.

Swim-In Cinema

SPECIAL EVENTS RIFF is about more than just the films. The Special Events program might include a Swim-in Cinema, Film Concerts, Drive-in Cinema and a Visual Culinary Experience. In addition there are endless parties and social events for great meet-andgreet opportunities.

TALENT LAB Filmmakers planning their first feature or other film projects are given the chance to pitch their ideas to producers and meet experienced filmmakers. The program varies but intimate masterclasses with filmmakers such as Béla Tarr, Mike Leigh and David Cronenberg are a good example.
