Our communities would fall apart without you - the team members who bring your best every day to make life better for the people that live and work beside you. It's important to recognize and celebrate the successes that you create through your dedication to the residents and fellow team members within our communities. We've created Spotlight on Success as a way to do just that. Each month, we'll highlight team members who have shown exceptional effort toward making life better for those around them.

Meaningful Moments: Arbor Landing at Hampstead
2024
Spotlight on Success
Hailey Wilson has been a CNA / MedTech with Arbor Landing for nearly 2 years. Hailey completed the Practical Nursing program at Cape Fear Community College. We are incredibly proud of her. She joined our team after graduating from high school and her wisdom and maturity far exceeded most. She exhibited qualities of a leader immediately, and was quickly promoted from a certified nursing assistant to med tech. Hailey is extremely dependable and helpful to her team at Arbor Landing. She is motivated and creative in her caregiving approach. You can often find her engaging the residents with games or activities between med passes and care tasks. She is always a step ahead, anticipating and meeting the needs of our assisted living and memory care residents. Next up on Hailey’s agenda, is becoming a Registered Nurse and we know she will excel in this program as well. Congratulations Hailey! Keep up the great work!

In honor of the Beaufort Pirate Invasion, Lisa Harlow organized our own Pirate Invasion of Carteret Landing. Inviting the Rusty Cutlass Band, our residents enjoyed pirates, mermaids, and had the opportunity to sing traditional and modern sea shanties while eating pirate themed snacks. The event was a great success with over half the residents attending!

MOMENTS
It was National Crochet Day and we have a resident Ms. Jean who crochets all day long. She probably makes 7-8 doilies a day. There is a local yarn shop called Wicked Stitch and I reached out to them to see if they wanted to do something. She donated a bag of yarn which Ms. Jean lost her mind over! So today we are crocheting with Ms. Jean. Plus, to make it even more special Saturday is her birthday!

MOMENTS “One of my residents Nancy absolutely loves going to plays and musicals and it is something that she did regularly with her husband before he passed away. When I was talking to her, she was very passionate about the cast, vocals, costumes, and everything that goes into making a production. So yesterday we made her moment come true! We had lunch on the water in downtown Wilmington at The Pilot House. It was a beautiful day and we sat at a window seat right on the Cape Fear River! She enjoyed a delicious seafood lunch before we headed over to Thalian Hall. We chose to see The Color Purple and it was absolutely amazing! We saw the last show while it was in town, and it made it even more of a powerful show. We both were moved to tears at the ending and loved every minute. She has already looked at the Spring 2024 calendar and picked out two musicals for the Spring! On the way home she continued to thank me for her wonderful day out and going to see the show!
