Annica's caregiving journey began at 17 when she cared for her grandmother. Hailing from Jamaica and raised in England, she carries on a lineage of caregivers, including her mother and other family members in healthcare. After high school in Jamaica, she settled in New York, working as a private caregiver. Now residing in Elizabethtown, an hour from ALH, she chose our community for its positive energy and care-focused environment. Annica's devotion extends beyond work. She volunteers with Families First and is a lifeline for neighbors in need, often preparing meals for the elderly. Her compassion and joyful spirit uplift our community, turning stressful moments into dance parties. She forms deep connections with residents, like one with communication difficulties whom she engages with British shows, tea, and accessories, significantly improving her quality of life. Annica's dedication to dignity and innovative care enriches the lives of all she serves.

MOMENTS
This month, we selected Mrs. Gloria for a Meaningful Moment. Residing in our Independent Living community, Gloria hails from New Jersey and has a passion for New Jersey/New York-style pizza. Today, accompanied by her close friends Barbara and Anne, we visited Toffino’s Italian Bakery, Deli, and Pizza. Our delightful feast included pizza, New York-style cheesecake, rum cake, key lime pie, and Italian cookies. When I asked her opinion, Gloria responded, "almost perfect, I would definitely eat here again." She even requested a business card to share her experience with her son. It was truly a wonderful day, and I wholeheartedly agree with Gloria - the pizza was indeed amazing! -Amy Mullins, Arbor Landing at Ocean Isle

MOMENTS When Frank Limauro isn't busy chatting with his new friends at Arbor Landing at Ocean Isle, he can often be found entertaining the community with beautiful music. Frank is a talented singer who is also an accomplished guitarist, pianist, and yes, he even plays the accordion! After many impromptu guitar and piano solos, we knew we wanted to hear him play the accordion too but there was just one problem - A pesky key kept getting stuck and Frank didn't want to play it unless it was perfect. That's when our one and only Kathy D'Ambrosia located Pat Raccioppa, who was able to repair the instrument to like-new condition. On January 29th, Frank and the Ocean Isle community celebrated another Meaningful Moment when he was finally able to play his accordion for his fellow residents and our team. We are so thankful for Frank and his talents and can't wait to hear him play again.
